We fell in love with Three Hammers the first time we went there. It is such a warm and welcoming location with great people and delicious wine. We live about 2.5 hours away but were planning a wedding at Woodloch which meant we were up in the area a lot. Every trip we made up to the area we made a point of stopping for a glass of wine and to restock with “a few” bottles of wine to hold us over till our next visit. The staff is always very friendly. The owners were always welcoming and very happy to show us around and share their story with us. We ended up falling in love with the property so much that we spoke to Rob and Christine (the owners) about having our first look for our wedding on their property and I am so happy we did. We could not have asked for a better backdrop for our first look. After we finished with our moment, Rob came over to say hi and congratulate us. After so much build up to that moment, I was so happy we were in a relaxing atmosphere and were able to enjoy a nice glass of wine.

Many bins of old -time candy, new candy and chocolates!! A kid’s dream!! Also some pre-packaged candies, a little store with some gifts (stuffed animals , candles, signs) hot sauce and peanuts. The owners are so nice and helpful! Also for Covid, they limit the number of customers at a time, you have to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer when you get in! Great shop!

Wallenpaupack Lake Trail

Reviewed By jdoris922 - Levittown, United States

Lake Wallenpaupack visitor center is beautiful and the ppl working there are very helpful. After already walking the Tafton damn trail (a beautiful well maintained trail on top of the Tafton dam) my wife and I decided to go into the visitor center and see if their were any other short trails we could easily hike. After talking to the very nice girl at the desk of the visitor center and getting a trail map, amongst many other pamphlets, we decided to hike the lake trail to the nature center. Well the trees are all changing and going midweek means you basically have the area to yourself! We saw an eagle, 2 osprey, along the lake as well as lots of squirrels and geese. Both trails are well maintained, easy to follow, flat and short. We started bothtrails just behind the visitor center. To the left, Tafton dam trail is compacted tiny stone and approx 1 mile round trip, to the right the lake trail leads to the nature center and is approx 1.5 miles round trip. Mostly compacted mulch. Best time to go is spring, fall weekday. Great pictures of sunset from the dam.

Hawley Silk Mill

The Silk Mill in Hawley has been a vital part of this community since its construction in 1880. Its many incarnations over the years have included a silk factory with the foremost technology of the day, a textile factory, and antique center. Never has it been more vibrant than today. The vision for the repurposed factory is to have a center that celebrates the lifestyle of the Pocono Lake Region – a place for the residents and visitors alike to shop, gather, eat, exercise, hold events and learn. Our Boiler Room is the perfect event venue for weddings, parties and meetings.
