Though the furnace was not fired up because they had been gone, I appreciated talking to them and see the jewelry and decor items.

anyone who helps any animals and or birds or even fish have to be special types of people. I love to walk outdoors and here in Elsworth,Maine you have the best of all worlds. The people here are very caring and the trails are in good order. No matter what your age you will find something to keep you not only interested but makes you feel good that someone is taking care of those in need. This is a safe place for these birds while they recover and get better. You can shop in the gift store and bring a lunch and eat at a table set up for you. Get lost for a while in nature. you will fee free and relaxed which is something we all need every once in a while. Go here an enjoy a great afternoon. In warm weather suggest some bug spray.

Rooster Brother, the store for cooks, is located on the banks of the Union River in Ellsworth, Maine close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Housed in a magnificent Victorian building, it consists of one floor of specialty cookware, linens and beautiful things for the home, and another floor of specialty food, wine, cheese and our coffee roasting operation.
You should go there for several reasons: the coffee beans (try the Indian coffee), all the cheeses and pates and savories. Delicious molasses and chocolate chip cookies. Even a lovely sandwich for lunch. Teas and crackers, candies and all sorts of delicacies as well as coffee pots and tea pots. All of this on the basement level. Go up a floor to see the array of saucepans and everything you can imagine for cooking or putting on a lovely dinner party. All are top quality—and rather expensive. There’s no junk here! Now, when it’s open, go outside and up to the next level. Here you actually find bargains from discontinued lines. Always check this level out if it’s available. There are other terrific stores in Ellsworth, but my first stop is always at Roosters! And I live about 30 minutes away.

My wife and I stop every time we come to Maine. They always have something that "wants to come home with us." They have a good variety of antiques, with several vendors. The antiques are mostly in booths, with plenty of room to move around. There are a few glass cases at the entrance. On the second floor is their book section. There are also old magazines for sale, as well as old magazine advertising. They also have restroom facilities on the first floor, available for their customers. If you like antiques and/or old books and magazines, I recommend you stop by.

Love LL Bean. when you can not go to the Main location these are really nice as well. I love the fact they back everything with a long time guarantee some lifetime. Really the quality is really good and they have a very good selection of items at this location. Large parking area and the place is really clean. The staff know their stuff about their products and are very helpful. A great place for the family to shop while in Ellsworth. They do have some special offers as it is an outlet store for LL Bean. I always get great bargins for myself and the family. A great place to stop.
