Berlin is an edgy city, from its fashion to its architecture to its charged political history. The Berlin Wall is a sobering reminder of the hyper-charged postwar atmosphere, and yet the graffiti art that now covers its remnants has become symbolic of social progress. Check out the Weltzeituhr (world time) Clock, topped by a model of the solar system, then turn back time by dining at the historic Zur Letzten Instanz, a 16th century restaurant that was frequented by Napoleon and Beethoven.

It's Comedy. On a Boat. On the Spree. Berlin's most scenic comedy show will brighten up your day and make you laugh. Laughing Spree Comedy is a weekly English comedy show, hosted by Comedian Chris Doering, with an extremely friendly atmosphere and some of Berlin's finest comedians, lots of guest comedians and the occasional first timer. And it's all for free, including compulsory free shots at the door! When? Every Monday Where? The Floating Lounge, Eastern Comfort Hostelboat (by East Side Gallery) When again? Doors open at 8pm, Show starts 8.30pm See you buoys and gulls aboard the ship. Keep on laughing!
I loved the location and atmosphere of this show. It's right next to the iconic East Side Gallery, and the Floating Lounge is an actual boat on the Spree. I loved being able to watch the sunset with a beer in hand in between the two halves of the show. And the show is nice and fast-paced. You get to see a lot of different comedians in a relatively short amount of time. This is a great thing to do before heading out to Friedrichshain bars for the night--the show puts you in a good mood for a good night out.

The privately run Berliner Kriminal Theater (Criminal Theatre Berlin) was founded in 2000 by the director Wolfgang Rumpf and the dramaturge Wolfgang Seppelt, since which time it has shown classics and bestsellers from criminal literature with a fixed ensemble cast. The Umspannwerk Ost (Transformer Station East), the listed building in Friedrichshain has been the theatre's home since 2003 and was built between 1899 and 1900 by the architect O. Springmann as a frequency and transformer station for Berlin's electricity supply. Nowadays, every evening on the stage of the Berliner Kriminal Theater there is as much murdering, assassinating and backstabbing as the public wants. Whether by poison or snake, falling flowerpot, or angel of death - every evening there are deaths to lament and perpetrators to expose. The question is always who did it and after much deliberation there is always a chivalrous conviction. After the theatre, the thrill-sated public can repair to the adjacent restaurant "Umspannwerk Ost" in the former turbine hall before merrily rolling home.

Berlin’s newest music venue. With a capacity of 2,250 (seating) and up to 4,350 (standing), the Verti Music Hall sets new standards for event venues of comparable size in regards to customer experience and production. From pop to rock, musical, Schlager, classical music or hip hop – the Verti Music Hall is a place for everyone. A place for fans to come together and celebrate their favourite artists in an intimate, yet modern setting. The venue can also host sports events, conferences or business events – it’s as flexible as the event world itself.
Great venue for concerts - good acoustics too. Easy to park and plenty of restaurants nearby for refreshments before and/or after the concert.
