We stopped at the art centre to see what our family could do between our outdoor tours...we were thrilled to find a short film, the opportunity to create some clay art and met some inspiring folks who showed us the creative side of Jasper!

Went there to keep the kids entertained during a very cold winter day. They/we had great fun using the climbing walls and the pool. The place is very clean. Great views from the pool

I enjoy they drop-in classes for the flexibly. Instead of a show the whole family (3 generations) will go enjoy their favorite activities or work out. Then gather at one of the meeting areas for a snack or beverage.

Not all public buildings can live up to the poetry of this Snohetta designed masterpiece. The LRT slips under it unobtrusively. The curved wood slats both draw you in and help you look out. The Children's section is full of corners and nooks and crannies for discovery. The path you take walking through the space around and around the central atrium is continually evolving, until you reach the reading room at the top. The way the windows are shaped and how that expresses itself on the inside is sublime. A beautiful place to sit and take in a book.

Gorgeous building modeled after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, houses a library, health center and an art gallery.

I was visiting Edmonton this week and on Monday my twin brother suggested we go downtown as he said there had been a lot of changes since my last visit. He was right! He recommended we ride the Funicular (just behind the MacDonald Hotel) which we did. There is no charge. (Please don't compare it to the funiculaire de Montmartre--it's totally different.) It's just a short ride to some pathways and a wonderful observation deck. The views were incredible. Nice to see as well that there is security at this site. Darryl
