A working olive grove, one of the oldest in New Zealand with a purpose built olive oil tasting room.
Most people go to Matinborough for the vineyards but thia hidden gem is also worth a visit. The hosts gave us a lovely tour of the grove, explaining all about olives, harvesting, the different varieties and many more. At the end of the tour we watched a short video about the pressing of the olives and then proceeded to taste a variety of oils. Thanks to Olivo we now know what to look out for when buying or tasting olive oil, and what each type really means. They also have olive oil soap which I can't wait to try!

A world search, which also included France, Germany, North and South America as well as Australia for the ideal area with perfect conditions for viticulture, especially for Pinot Noir, brought Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling, graduates of the German Viticulture and Oenology University in Geisenheim to the Wairarapa, New Zealand. Schubert vineyards are closely planted and the unique climate produces low yields and internationally award winning wines with intense and complex character; predominantly exported to currently 25 countries.
Schubert was the last on our list for wine tasting and we were not disappointed. Coco was attentive and ensured we weren’t sitting around without a taster for too long. We ended up ordering a mixed case of four different wines which coco arranged to be couriered home. They arrived home before we did - how’s that for service! You don’t have to book for a tasting but it does fill up fast. From memory bookings are recommended for groups of six or more.

A boutique brewery located in the heart of Martinborough. Our beer is hand crafted with care and attention to detail by people with a passion for their product and region. Visit our well appointed tasting room and sample beer direct from the on-site brewery.
Great brews making for a very tasty flight of beers and you can’t go wrong with the Cheerios and cheese toast for old time favourites. The darker beers were surprising delicious as we’re both not usually that way inclined.

We want to thank Angela and compliment her on her outstanding service. Thanks to her advice we have visited some excellent wineries, eaten at great places and done a fabulous walk at the Pinnacles. Martinborough and its tourists are so lucky to have someone as talented and passionate as Angela promoting the town and its gems.

Enjoy our wines in a relaxed cellar door environment. Take a seat, take your time and enjoy our selection of wines on tasting. Or if you would prefer to lounge outside on the beanbags in the Wairarapa sun or cosy up by the fire in the middle of winter, you can also purchase by the glass or share a bottle with friends accompanied by our tasty selection of food options.
Awesome sunny wee place to chill in the afternoon with a Delish beverage and pizza. No menu night is also fantastic, highly recommend
