I went here on a rainy morning, after I spent the day before on bicycle. My legs and back were really stressed and painful. I had the body vietnamese massage and it's based on various techniques: pressure points, few Thai moves and a lot of energetic knead moves in order to activate blood circulation and relieve pain. The atmosphere was really relaxing, warm room, soft light and music, the masseuse very professional and they offered me Jasmin tea before and after the treatment. I'm really grateful because I felt immediately in a good shape and I can continue my journey.

Oasis of serenity. This place is so beautiful and so peaceful it's unreal. Me and my partner did a 3 hour tour with another couple we met at the ticket counter (it was 4 people per boat) decided on tour 3 and off we went. We spotted fish, all different kinds of birds and even some mountain goats. Stopped in various pagodas and rowed through a super long and dark cave. It was one of my favourite days while backpacking Vietnam (we did the Mua Caves in the am) and so if you ever visiting Ninh Binh you should definitely do this, you will not be disappointed.

Got all the knots out and cracks out my back and knew where all the pressure points were. Got zinger tea and a foot bath before the massage. Felt very well looked after.

Thung Nham Ecotourism Zone in Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province is one of the famous tourist spots with amazing wild beauty - notably the bird park, which is attracting many domestic and foreign tourists to visit. Situated 7km to the West of Tam Coc Boat Station, Thung Nham is your much needed relief after the chaos of the city and throngs of tourists.
I didn't really have an expectations when I arrived at Thung Nham, I'd been vaguely told that it was a good spot to see lots of birds in the evening. I wasn't expecting the place to be so big, and with more work being done it should be a truly great afternoon out for tourists when the country reopens. I wish I'd arrived earlier as I only really had a chance to explore Mermaids Cave (mind your head!) before settling in to watch the birds at dusk. I've been in Vietnam for a while and it's sadly not a country with a huge amount of wildlife, so it warmed my soul to see the hundreds of herons and egrets that best here. Because I arrived late and was on my own, I wasn't able to take a boat ride to get closer to the birds but I was very happy perched on a viewing platform. Aside from the birds, I also found the park to be a lovely place to stroll around and works have happily spent much longer here had I not got my timings wrong and got here too late. I'll definitely make plans to visit again next time I'm in Ninh Bình
