Located in the heart of the Black Hills, Miner Brewing Company produces craft beers that are both traditional in nature, and yet truly "South Dakota." Brewmaster Sandi’s goal is to craft beers that people can enjoy every day. We want to showcase as much of the uniqueness of South Dakota as possible using local ingredients when we can. From local honey to handpicked wild fruits and indigenous yeast and hops, it all comes from South Dakota; even the wheat for our Wheat beer comes from Sandi’s family farm near Mobridge, SD. We emphasize keeping beer fresh and heavily rely on the pure mountain water we get directly from our well near the brewery in Hill City. The water is the most important ingredient in crafting our Miner Brewing craft beers, it’s from the water that we get our unique flavors and distinctive style. See what’s new on tap and enjoy a flight, pint, or growler to go today. Our winery, Prairie Berry Winery, is located next door.
Of the breweries we visited in the Hill City/Custer area Miner is the best. Great beer, great service and great atmosphere.

Brewery and taproom located in Rapid City, SD - specializing in small batch ales & lagers, barrel aging and seasonal beers. Energetic tap room with a rustic outdoor theme and active Food Truck scene - located across the street from Hiking, Mountain Biking, Fishing, and Golf.
We got a recommendation from some locals to check out this brewery while in town. I really enjoyed the Grizzly scotch ale, Hefeweizen and a few others. I highly recommend checking out this brewery. Great to support a local business!

Hay Camp Brewing Co produces handcrafted small-batch ales for local enjoyment. The tavern is located downtown Rapid City in a multipurpose building and features re-purposed wood from Homestake Mine. There is no kitchen, but call for a food truck schedule. See the website for additional events, such as concerts, beer festivals, food pairings, and Bike4Pint.
Situated a short 10 minute walk from the city centre this bar is well worth a visit. It does not serve food but concntrates on offering a good range of beers in comfortable surroundings. I had the Bitter Warrior which was served on cask and was very tasty. On Keg we enjoyed the Victory Stout, the Coffee Porter and the Branding Iron Brown. Thanks for a good afternoon !

Craft brewery and Internationally awarded winery located along the beautiful spring creek in Hill City, SD. Enjoy our kitchen with menu items crafted with wine and beer.
My humble opinion is that you can save yourself some disappointment by driving past the other breweries in the area and stopping here. Firehouse offers expertly crafted beers for a variety of tastes and does so in a really nice facility with excellent service. After sampling several of their beers we wound up taking a few crowlers home with us and they were every bit as good back at home. I say that because sometimes you kind of get "in the moment" at a place like this and think you really like something and then when you get it home and are comparing it against your usual selection, it pales a bit. Not so with Firehouse beers. The service was excellent and my wife even enjoyed some of the wine offerings. After seeing all the signs along I-90 we were kind of expecting an over-hyped tourist trap experience, but that wasn't at all the case. Firehouse is highly recommended!
