Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

As you look at the backdrop it feels familiar because of so many movies that use this spot. Cold and crisp but well worth braving the temperature

This is an excellent area of Central Park situated around the Northern End. It’s very calming and beautiful on a sunny February day. Great to jog or walk around.

We went to conservatory waters because my 8 and 5 year old boys had read about them in one of our guides. The boats are rented by Sail the Park. We visited on a Wednesday in the summer, close to when it opened and there was no wait for a boat. The boats were $11 for 30 mins. It was plenty of time to enjoy the boats, although our kids loved it so much, we did it twice in one day. Both kids (8 & 5) were able to sail the boats with the remotes (there is no motor - you can just control the sail). There is a convenient bathroom and a small snack area right by conservatory waters as well as as ice cream bar.

Very peaceful and quite secluded the Turtle Pond is located close to The Great Lawn. On a hot day you see masses of turtles both in the water and on land. A lovely place to view wildlife Highly Recommend

Attractive pond (with features) at the southern end of Central Park. It’s a peaceful place to hang out and away from the madness or the city.
