Hotel ratings should be adjusted for their environments. If this hotel were in my neighborhood in San Diego, California where tourism standards are high, I would give this hotel a one, or at best a two. This hotel has no heating - despite the fact that the night time temperatures often fall into the 40's and even the 30's Fahrenheit. This hotel has limited hot water - which is due to the fact that the water is heated above in tanks run through solar panels. This hotel has no closet for clothes, no room safe, no phone, no tv, and so on. What this hotel has though- is charm, charm, charm. This hotel is on a small island, an island with no cars, motorcycles, or engine driven vehicles on any kind. It's in the middle of a lake that is over 12,000 feet in elevation, a lake with no ships or modern sailing vessels. Domestic donkeys and llamas roam the trails. The trails were built nearly a thousand years ago. This hotel offers an escape from wherever you were from to a very special place that was very special to people who lived here hundreds and thousands of years before. It was here that one of the few times in my life that I could hear nothing - absolutely nothing. And see absolutely nothing - except pure natural beauty. This place is special and this hotel enhances the aura you feel when you arrive. The room we got was like the others here, an independent unit high above the lake with incredible views of Lake Titicaca and the islands and spectacular mountains. Our room had three large picture windows on two adjacent walls that allowed us to enjoy the sunset and sunrise. But for the evening rain, we would have seen the starry sky from our room, that this place is known for. We were told that the hotel was up about 10 months ago. Everything appeared new and everything appeared spotlessly clean. The room furnishings were simple but exuded a charm reminiscent of mountain chalets of the Alps. The bed was small - a full or queen size, but had thick coverings to keep you warm. Sonia runs the place for her family and keeps a nice restaurant and lobby near the bottom of the property, with large windows offering incredible views of the lake. The rooms are independly stacked up the hill on each side allowing each unit spectacular views. The boat dock is a few hundred feet below and a few other similar hotels can be seen to the side and below. Sonia provides a great breakfast and dinnner. Choices are quite limited but the offerings are really good. Her milk and juice drinks are like smoothies without the sweet sugar taste, her matte de coca has fresh, loose, whole leaves, and her trucha (locally farmed fish) is excellent and recommended. And her soups are perfect after that long day of hiking and boating across the lake. But caution. There is a long rather steep walk up the steps to the hotel from the boat dock. Anyone should be able to make it unless they have some medical problem. We are a couple in our later 60's and had no problem, although we took our time and breathed hard.

Palla Khasa Lodge is harmony, place of connection with nature, beautiful panoramic views towards the lake and sunset. Cabins in Bungalow design, with solar energy, heating, private bathroom, large gardens, with views towards the lake. * Additional services offered: -Restaurant, (specialty in dishes of the region). -Laundry -Ground transportation -Lacustrine transportation -Area of family recreation. Location: The hotel is located on the top of the island of the sun, in the community of Yumani, 7 minutes from the town, on the way to the north of the island.
Unrivaled Food, staff, location, bed, shower, hospitality. Sad I couldn’t extend a few more days. The stars and silence of the morning and eve are well worth the price alone. Trek to get there but worth every Inca step you’ll take.

Our room was clear and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good! We had hot water in the shower. The hostel located close to the port so it’s comfortable if you are coming with begs.

About a kilometer from the harbor, alone and all relaxed with panoramic views. Dining room and rooms very modern in colonial style. Its WiFi is available. Essential to get up early! Looking at the sunrise is overwhelming! It's a unbelievable quite place.

Made a reservation on booking.com that was cancellable until 6pm. Got there at 1pm and was first told I couldn’t cancel, then that the wifi was too bad to cancel, and was then asked to pay them to cancel. Went up the hill to another hostel and cancelled the reservation there. Would absolutely not recommend, the staff were super sketchy.
