Authentic Japanese omotenashi hospitality in the heart of Tokyo From the moment guests arrive and slip off their shoes to step onto fragrant tatami mats, HOSHINOYA Tokyo, in the prestigious Otemachi district, promises sublime and authentic Japanese ryokan hospitality.
A unique and relaxing urban ryokan concept in Tokyo -- truly a one-of-a-kind. The top quality traditional Japanese furnishings and finishes were well-complemented by the high service standards provided by the HOSHINOYA Tokyo team who worked hard to accommodate guests' comfort, from delicious in-house prepared meals to customized activities such as kendo exercises, yukata-wearing, tea ceremony, Otemachi city walks, and sake-tasting. A wonderful ometenashi experience.

Perfect for conferences, events, or simply enjoying Tokyo from a central location. In addition to our guest rooms, we also offer space up to 195 square meters usable for conferences, lectures, or parties. Our location is within walking distance of Akihabara and Ochanomizu stations and convenient to anywhere in central Tokyo. Enjoy free Wi-Fi from any of our rooms.
Only 10 minutes from Tokyo Station by train, and only 10 minutes walk from Akihabara. But rooms were small and dirty, found lots of dust and grime under a bed with a sock. Staff were lovely though and the Family Mart came in handy as well as the launderette.

A retro modern hotel that creates a sophisticated quiet and relaxed private space, by fusing Japanese interior with classical image, in Cultural Street Jimbocho.
Stayed for twelve nights in November 2019. Typical smaller hotel room common in most of Tokyo (i.e. expect to watch TV while sitting on the bed). Very nice amenities and very comfortable beds. Room was quiet. No food options but there are many restaurants/stores close to the hotel. Very close to Jimbocho station.

This “hotel” advertised the double room we booked as an apartment. It really is just a very small room with tiny shower(no bathtub) with a bed wedged between two walls so you have to slide to the end to get out of it. You are lucky to fit two suitcases in the room. There is a feeling of claustrophobia as you cannot lift the blinds and cannot see out of the windows. The sink is in the room, not the bathroom and cannot be plugged. There is a microwave, electric kettle and small refrigerator but hardly any space to eat. There is supposed to be a washing machine but we did not see it or use it. There is not much of a reception area as you self check-in and we hardly saw anyone at the desk. But we saw cameras in the reception and elevator. For a hotel that is advertised as just opened in April 2019, the carpet is stained and the overall feel is old. The plus is that it is located several blocks from the train station and restaurants. But there are plenty of better places to stay for the same price that are close to transportation and food. I’m not sure what the other rooms looked like but we won’t stay here again.

Apartment
There is no one at the "front desk" to check you in. If you don't have cell phone coverage in Tokyo, good luck getting into the hotel the first time. The location is OK. It's within walking distance to the public transportation system. The futon mattresses were too thin. It was very a uncomfortable and restless 2 nights. It was clean and had a nice kitchenette. The shower was small (as is typical in Japan), but clean and had good pressure. The windows did not keep any noise out, so it was quite noisy at times during the night. I would pay more next time and get a hotel with better futons. They also charged us extra for our kids, even though the website we booked through said we would not be charged. I think they took advantage of us as it was late, cold, and we had no place else to go. The language barrier didn't help.
