With the bluest of blue water and the greenest of green surrounding forest, Lake Tahoe, quite simply, transfixes. From the early Indians to authors such as Mark Twain, folks have tried to capture the beauty and mystique of the lake with nicknames like "Big Blue" and "Grasshopper Soup." Others maintain that it's impossible to describe the magnificence in words. At 6,225 feet above sea level, Tahoe is the highest alpine lake in the United States and has long attracted vacationers from around the world. In the summer, hiking, windsurfing, golfing, fishing and swimming (usually in wet suits due to the lake's brisk year-round temperature) are all the rage. The winter season, which actually starts around Thanksgiving, brings throngs of skiers to area resorts. Located between California and Nevada, different sides of the lake tend to attract different types of visitors. The California side draws families and outdoor enthusiasts while the Nevada side beckons those looking for big name entertainment and casinos. No matter which side you choose, a getaway to stunning Lake Tahoe will not soon be forgotten.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Lake Tahoe for the great time we had at your resort this past week. My wife and I like to get away to Lake Tahoe every year. We planned our trip for this past week forgetting it was Super Bowl weekend. I called the Hard Rock to make arrangements for our stay and I was fortunate enough to speak with Tanya Bouldin, one of the casino hosts. She was able to book us at a very reasonable rate on a very busy weekend. We had a wonderful time at your property. The entire staff was friendly and very attentive to all of our needs. The food was outstanding ( Park Prime Steakhouse was amazing and we could not get enough of the Oyster Bar), and the drink service at the bars and on the floor was quick and good. Finally we want to say thanks again to Tanya. My wife and I both love hitting the casino floor. As players I just want to say that we have been to casinos all over. Vegas, Southern California, Aruba, Florida, etc. We have never had a host as considerate or generous. We aren't the highest of rollers. We sure felt like it though. Tanya took the time to check up on us on the floor. She made me feel comfortable enough to jump into a Blackjack Tourney, which I had a great time at. She got us into a Super Bowl event at the casino that was super fun with great food and a complete blast! As players we received outstanding service and comps compared to other properties we have stayed at. We just want to express our gratitude for the wonderful time we had and we can't wait to come back! Thanks again, Michael and Rebecca Patton
