Abernethys Antiques and Curiosities

Abernethys Antiques and Vintage Curios is a small family run Portrush business on the north coast of Ireland. With plenty of tourist attraction and stunning beaches why not take a little time out to browse through the eclectic mix of what we have to offer. Victorian bookcases, fibreglass heads, piranha fish and giraffe sculptures are just a few of the items on offer.

This is the boutique antique store that offers everything from Georgian garden furniture to Victorian Haberdashery, from Western bar room paraphernalia to Oriental porcelain and Russian Dolls. It’s so big you could get lost wandering around the store, the staff are very friendly and knowledgable. I quite often go into antiques stores when travelling and never see anything I MUST have. The challenge in this place is to decide what are the must have items. I got a Victorian water pump, cleaned it, painted it and it’s transformed my wee garden. Highly recommended for both the seasoned buyer and those who just love browsing.

The Yellow Yard

Nipped in here a few days ago. Was walking the city walls and saw the sign pointing towards the store. Was so surprised to see a well run fully stocked old and new record store. Half the store is set out for other items. Welcoming staff and incredible range for the vinyl fan. Got a double album here a great price. Thank you from a stranger to the city. Lovely gem of a shop!

7. The Natural Room Emporium

68-70 Castle Street, Comber BT23 5DZ Northern Ireland +44 7828 009243 http://www.thenaturalroom.co.uk

Definitely not your average antique shop. Decorative Antiques and Interiors based at 68-70 Castle Street, Comber, County Down. We’re definitely not antique experts and don’t profess to be… we simply buy with our eyes, and what we buy is based on personal taste. From an architectural background we have a keen eye for design and strong spacial awareness. This carries through to, and influences our showrooms and their contents. Our stock varies widely but we’re particularly interested in 18th & 19th century furniture. This forms the core of our showrooms which are then accessorised by hand selected curiosities, taxidermy and art. We always have a fine selection of ever changing decorative antiques, unique (often weird and wonderful) bits and bobs and interior pieces, sourced from all over the uk and further afield, restored or refurbished and ready for your home. We're pretty sure it's not what you'd expect ;)
