We had been shown pictures of Yalihan Una (adjoining - a very smart modern hotel) so were suprised and a little disappointed when we arrived at 4am and were shown to a rather tired room. The bathroom was very small, no hot water and a shower cubicle crammed behind the toilet. It was a family room so against the far wall were two bunk beds. We were not happy. Next morning we requested a change but were told that there were no other rooms available. Ok - I have done nothing but run the place down so far. However the room was ground floor and we walked straight out onto the sandy beach. No lifts to wait for - it took us less than a minute from the beach to the room. The hot water appeared in the afternoon so that was fine - beds comfortable - and we could lay our clothes etc on the bunk beds. There was a fridge, wifi, tv (not great reception but no programmes in English so it didn't really matter. Beach had loads of sun loungers (free) but if you wanted a mattress it was 1 euro per mattress per day. Nice swimming pool (too much chlorine - take goggles) with water shute thing, various snack bars dotted around supplying drinks and snacks. Kiddie club (also kiddie show most evenings with same songs and actions - which I now know) Food is fine but all their guess when we were there were German or Russian so I think they tend to cater for them. It gave us the opportunity of trying different foods - some of which I enjoyed. There is a little show put on by the entertainment staff most nights - again in German or Russian (or both) but once they knew that we were there they did translate bless them. The staff are lovely, the sheets changed daily - most have a smile and really want to help. I am really pleased we ended up in the Yalihan Aspendos. It is more personal that these huge modern hotels. I would recommend you give it a try - get room 503

Hotel was clean, and well kept (for what you pay) don't expect 5 * as thats not what you are paying for... The hotel was mainly Russian/ eastern europeans and they catered for them soley. I don't expect people to speak english when abroad but even to be included would have been nice, as the animators spoke to other guests in english (germans, russians ETC) but never spoke to us. The music around the pool gave us headache every day as it was so loud you couldn't even speak to the person sat next to you. When the animators did pool games it seemed to be for their entertainment and not for the guests. All inclusive drinks consisted of Beer, Vodka and spiced vodka, Red or white wine (which they ran out of everyday) so unless you drank vodka forget having a drink. Food again was hit and miss. If you didn't get into the dining room when it opened (7pm) there was nothing left by 8pm and it wasn't replaced you just picked from what was left. Beach bar ok did chips and a bread as snacks but always cold and you had to pay for drinks so not all inclusive. There was a massage place in hotel however the guy was very touchy feely and didn't leave you alone he was very creepy and seemed to take pleasure in annoying us when we asked for him not to touch us. One plus note you didn't have to fight for a sunbed at 8am as we always got one around the pool..

As the other reviews state, this hotel is mostly for Russians and Germans. If you do not speak Russian, German, or Turkish you might want to stay somewhere else. The positives were that the beach was very close, the food was included, the air conditioning worked great, and the hotel was very clean. The negative list is unfortunately much longer... I debated between 2 and 3 stars, but decided that it was indeed an average hotel, not a 'poor' hotel. Because the food was included this meant you had very little choice with regards to protein. As I'm not much of a liver fan, and my husband doesn't much care for fish, we ended up eating rice and veggies for more than one meal. Furthermore, I'm convinced that all of the cakes were made of play doh (although the turkish desserts like baklava were quite tasty). Bottled water served at the tables was simply refilled from the tap, not a new bottle like they would hope you to believe. Finally, all of the drinks were watered down, this includes orange juice, pepsi, and even wine. And yes, the lines for dinner were quite long. The beds were HARD, and so were the pillows. When we asked at reception for softer pillows, they could not understand, or maybe did not care. When the maid came to clean the room, she would keep knocking till we answered the door. I found this annoying, as it woke me up a few times. The maid would also leave the balcony door open, letting out all of our cold air! Another note on the rooms - the walls were very thin. We could (unfortunately) hear everything our neighbors were up to. The elevator was very slow, and sometimes the power went out, so we had to walk up 5 flights of stairs multiple times a day. There were a total of two staff members who were kind to me. The rest had a very rude attitude and didn't seem to care whether the guests were happy or not. The spa staff were really annoying and would ask you if you wanted to book a massage about 2 times a day. The beach was quite rocky and slimy (but lots of chairs and umbrellas). My husband and I went over to another hotel 10 minutes down the road (Pegasus something hotel?) to go diving and saw that their beach was sandy and beautiful! Sure, once you are swimming it is alright, but if you are walking in the water, watch out for the rocks. Each night after dinner there was a mini disco for children, followed by some loud music for adults. I didn't run too late, but you can hear it in your hotel room. No free wifi either! So, if you have a free stay here, go for it... but I wouldn't recommend paying!
