This place is horrible, the room smelled of urine and smoke and when asked to change rooms, all rooms were apparently taken. Woke up the next day and didn't notice until after we checked out and started itching really bad and fast and when we checked we had bite marks throughout entire body. Went back to make management aware and all they could say was we can give you a 50 for the inconvenience. Please so do not stay here and suffer as we did.

As you can see from my pics this place a health hazard. In fact I have called the Chesapeake Health Department to file complaint. My family moved there in October while we apartment hunted. It was a 3 month stay in a mess. We were having hive breakouts, me and daughter, finally after literally scratching my skin off I went to Dr and was told its bedbugs. When we told owners, they moved us to another room and still we were bitten (probably they carried or was there). We told met again and can you believe they accused us of bringing the bugs? Insane! During the night you can smell weed while you trying to sleep. The neighbors upstairs often fought and stomped on floors.

Freshly painted and clean, but no hot water in the shower, no soap, no cups for water, nothing. They do not seem to know which rooms are smoking or not, Cant believe I paid what I paid. Hard to figure out TV. Am going to ask for refund.

They cancelled a reservation I had through Booking dot com weeks in advance 30 mins prior to my arrival and then acted like I was crazy giving them a reservation number that was not in their system. Come to find out, they cancelled because I locked in a rate $25 lower than their current nightly rate and a concert was in the area and they essentially gave my room to someone paying the higher rate who walked up. They claim my card was declined yet it's linked to a bank account with close to $70,000 available at the time of the stay. Liar liar pants on fire. To make matters worse, a man and woman at the desk - both Indian presumably late 20's/early 30's- talked smack about me to each other in their native language not realizing I understood it. They eventually got me a room at the full rate $25 more than my initial reservation and guess what? The card that was supposedly declined magically worked this time! I will never stay here again and I have been a semi regular customer over the years, going back to my military time. Remember, people speak multiple languages so best not to talk smack openly assuming a short fat white guy in his 40's isn't well cultured. Hope that $25 you screwed me out of was worth losing thousands down the road. So in summary, here's why I am eating one star: 1 Dishonest and rude ownership/staff. 2. The majority of the time the rooms for something broken in them. 3. The area is sketchy although I've never had any issues. Just avoid. The only reason I used them so often in the past was because they used to be affordable generally in the $70 range but lately rates are over $100. There's really no reason left to stay here. Also, remember if you use a 3rd party ap, that savings you get comes at the hotels expense which is very likely why they decided to give my room up and lie about my card being declined. My bank confirmed they never tried to run it.

We needed to stay 8 days in a hotel before our apt was ready in Norfolk. We our contract nurses for the Norfork City Jail. The room was nasty! Carpet in the room was filthy and smelled like vomit! Had to go out and buy roach motels for the room! The bath tub had been painted and had large chips of paint peeling off. Very noisy outside day and night. On Saturday, May 29, 2021 I was awakened by housekeeping to say I hadn't checked out. I told her I was here until the next day. A few minutes later the slum lord owner called and said that I needed to come and pay for another night. I told him I had just went to sleep, after working 14 hrs. I told him after I slept I would come to the office and pay for the room. So I went to pay that afternoon and they charged me $181!!! What the heck! This place was not the Hilton! Already had payed $760 for the wk and had to pay $181! for the night! Stated that it was a holiday weekend. What kind of highway robbery is that? The outside of the property is well groomed giving you the appearance that the rooms are as well. NOT!!! DO NOT STAY HERE AT THIS RONCHY ROACH INFESTEF MOTEL UNLESS YOU ARE A DRUG DEALER OR HOMELESS! The corporate franchise and Choice Hotels needs to take the name Econo Lodge off of their sign. Address 2222 S Military Hwy Chesapeake Va.

not a lot to say for my visit. it's a working man hostel. it's old, dated, in industrial park, noisy from outdoor trucks. upon room entrance everything is old, faucet drips, old musty smell, food was left in refrigerator not cleaned out, bar of soap small size is what needs to be thrown away. not a family place wouldn't take wife and kids. as a man just needing a bed and shower it met my needs. however will not stay again. location horrible nothing available. got what i paid for.
