Driving up to Sails is quite impressive. Sadly, from that point, most things missed the mark. Check in was spotty, with the staff struggling to link our accommodation booking to our Voyages adventures. The room was spacious, if a little dated. The room service was below standard, with towels not replaced & at least once, the bedding thrown over unmade sheets. The dining was farcical. Their buffet was booked out…even if half empty by 8pm…& their cafe was working on some weird mix of first come & waiting list for seating. The alternative down the road at Desert Whateveritwascalled did not take bookings but average wait time was 90 minutes for seating. Seriously, this is meant to be an upmarket resort & charges as such. There just weren’t enough options to cater for their accommodation requirements, which regardless of COVID, must be attended to. I could go on, but having raised the same with the guest services survey & booking.com…& heard nothing, despite offering to be available to discuss issues per their feedback mechanism. It is fortunate Uluṟu & Kata Tjuta are magnificent & deserving of their place as sacred sites for the first peoples as well as all Australians. That was the reason to be on the region. The Yulara facility did not do them justice.

Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel is a superior hotel at Voyages Ayers Rock Resort. Magnificent ghost gums and flowering native shrubs are the setting for this hotel. Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel is centrally located to all resort and touring facilities and offers a range of accommodation, from shaded poolside rooms to deluxe rooms overlooking the desert. You can relax in the comfort of your own private balcony or courtyard, or unwind in the hotel's pool, sipping cocktails from the Bunya bar. The staff at The Lost Camel Hotel were terrific, really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I contracted COVID on the last day of my planned stay. However the staff were really helpful and informative and made my isolation very pleasant and comfortable.

Emu Walk Apartments are Voyages Ayers Rock Resort's self contained apartments.Sheltered behind gardens of native trees and forming a walkway through the heart of the Resort is an avenue of terraced apartments. Spacious and well equipped, the Voyages Emu Walk Apartments can cater for up to six people - ideal if you are holidaying with family or friends. All apartments are self-contained, with separate kitchen, living and bedroom areas.Located just minutes from the hub of the Resort, the Town Square, including mini supermarket and shops, these apartments provide everything you need to cook up a storm. Or, if you're not in the mood for cooking, you're nice and close to all of the fabulous resort restaurants, including Gecko's café.
We had a very spacious 2 bedroom apartment with a good sized bathroom , kitchen and living area. I would highly recommend this accommodation for a family or 2 couples. Plenty of towels, a fridge and freezer and a great variety of utensils and cooking facilities. Brilliant location being right next to the town square and shops. The lovely man working on reception was very helpful and polite and was able to answer any questions I had.

Fun rustic outback bar. Nice to walk here on a mild day. Our G&Ts came out of cans but they tasted surprisingly good. The prices are hideous but no one comes to central australia for bargain prices given the big transport and staff costs. The staff were lovely to us, and overall we had a good time. This is a quirky little experience that I’d recommend.

Long queue to get in and expensive but hard to beat for location to Uluru. Staff weren’t particularly interested in helping but good facilities made up for it. The reaort itself has everything you need to stock up

Our family of four adults recently stayed in the Emu Walk Apartments and absolutely loved it! The whole resort has been carefully thought out and as you approach the apartments, they may seem a little pedestrian and ordinary. On opening the door nothing could be further from the truth - split level, stylish and modern interior with everything you could wish for. The little supermarket in the Town Square is well equipped with meat and fresh food, so we cooked in the apartment a couple of times. Beds were luxuriously comfortable with quality linens and we especially enjoyed the light fixtures and decor. As previously mentioned, BYO wine and you are set for a fabulous stay and don't miss the Field of Light art installation- truly stunning if you enjoy art. And Uluru is so much more than a 'big rock in the desert'. It's a magical and spiritual place that will stay with me forever!
