6 of us stayed at Lo Monte for 3 nights in May 22. The Hotel is kept spotlessly clean. The Manager is very helpful and speaks decent English. Nothing is too mush trouble. The rooms are adequate, again lovely and clean. Our rooms were cleaned every day with toiletries replenished daily. We had a bottle of champagne in the fridge on arrival. the restaurant adjacent to the hotel is good for continental style breakfast and good value lunches. All in all, our stay was a delight and I would certainly recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in this area as it is also only 30 minutes from Murcia Airport.

This is a one star hotel. It's clean, had air conditioning and the bed was comfortable. That's all you expect from a one star hotel. At £30 a night it's great value and the staff are very friendly. Nice town too

The Palmera Beach aparthotel is located just 100 metres from the beach and close to 4 golf courses. It has free Wi-Fi, free onsite parking and a swimming pool. The apartments all have 2 bedrooms, a lounge-kitchen, bathroom and a large terrace. Children under 11 years can stay for free when using existing bedding. Palmera Beach’s restaurant is open between April and September, and offers a range of Spanish cuisine and local wines. The hotel offers up to 15% discounts on green fees for various golf courses in Murcia and the Costa Blanca. Guests can book time on a course in reception. The AP-7 motorway is just over 1 km away.
Do not stay here. The bed is so uncomfortable we cannot sleep. Self catering facilities not good enough no kettle no toaster and just a hob. We had no water at all yesterday and no hot water today should be back at 10pm for maintenance so we have not had a shower or wash in 2 days! Unacceptable! Reception seemed to find it amusing….

Just returned from this campsite. There are good points about it but also things to be aware of if you are considering a stay there. The campsite is extremely tidy and well kept. There is attractive landscaping in front of the pool area. The public areas such as the toilet blocks and indoor pool are immaculate. Communal washing machines and tumble driers are offered for personal laundry. The restaurant offers a wide choice of meals and snacks. However, we stayed in a bungalow. We were told when booking early January that we wouldn’t be able to specify a particular bungalow. However, it is clear if you are local and staying for 1/2 nights, you are given priority and the newer bungalows. We were allocated for our 18 night stay an old bungalow. It smelt musty and stale and was extremely dark. I asked to change to one of the newer bungalows, only to be told precedence was given to families with short stays! We were eventually given another older style bungalow. None of the new bungalows were available. The bungalows are provided with clean linen and towels each week. They come with a small kitchen offering a two burner electric hob and microwave. They are equipped with various pans and utensils, crockery and cutlery. The bungalows are two bedrooms with a very comfortable double bed and a second bedroom with two single beds. The living area offers a sofa, dining table and chairs and a TV offering a mixture of Spanish, German, French and a small selection of British channels. These bungalows would be extremely comfortable during hotter periods in Spain. However, we suffered an extremely cold, rainy period and we were very cold. The only heating offered was via an AC unit which would be very very expensive to use, as unlike other comparable bungalow properties we stayed in Spain, all electricity must be paid for. We also had no control over the water heating/immersion heater in the bungalow. It constantly heated the water to a scalding temperature, resulting in over €50 electricity bill for 18 nights. This charge compares to fellow travellers with their own apartment who paid the equivalent amount for over 5 weeks electricity use!!! It is also worth noting that it is impossible to view the electricity meter as the covers are so worn making them unreadable. You have to get reception to open the meter cover to take a reading. You, therefore have no idea how much electricity you are using or whether the reading given to you at the start of your stay is accurate. We had two further issues of concern. There was no visible smoke alarm in the bungalow. This was extremely concerning when a huge motor home was allowed to park overnight by the management, directly outside the bungalow living area just 1m away. It seemed to me that fire regulations were not complied with, allowing not only gas canisters directly outside but the vehicle itself. The reason given was that they needed to get the very large motor home off their pitch ready to leave the following day. There were plenty of more easily accessible pitches they could have moved to for an easy start the next morning. When I asked for the motor home to be moved because of fire regulations (and a total loss of our privacy!!) the lady on reception was initially in agreement that it should not be parked on the road right outside our bungalow but we were later told that this has been agreed with the director with no consultation with us. I think when you are paying a costly daily rate that there should have been more consideration to our stay and privacy. The campsite would also benefit from a better internet system. While free access to the internet is offered in the restaurant, the wifi available to the bungalows is extremely poor. It was very difficult to connect to the internet from the bungalow. In fairness, reception are aware of this. A neighbour complained about this issue to reception and was given a router to use. However, we were told that routers only would be offered on stays of over one month as the minimum period of use was one month and even though we were prepared to pay for a month to have a better service we were told that we would have to buy a router. As we were leaving we were told that we had been given incorrect information about the availability of a broadband service which we could have had by paying for a month All in all, we had a disappointing time at this resort. It markets itself as a four star resort. However, I would suggest that it is not really living up to their reputation in terms of the services provided. That said, you will find it impossible to get a pitch in January or February and most of March as the site are booked up years in advance with a waiting list to be able to book in this period

It has been a while since I stayed at these apartments and I can say that they have been given a great makeover. The views out to sea watching the sunrise is lovely. What’s missing I hear you ask... a full length mirror and an English Channel on the tv. Although we didn’t spend a lot of time in the apartments it would have been nice to come back at end of day and watched something even if it is the news. Other than this I can’t fault it. Great location for bars and restaurants. Very reasonably priced and reception staff have been brilliant. We will come come back again.

Please do not even try to book anything to do with this hotel group. I had booked to stay at Jessica beach(not through trip advisor) unfortunately I had 2 cancellations of my flights with Ryanair so we were going to arrive 2 days late, we asked if we could extend our stay only to be told that we were never going to be staying at the Jessica beach apartments as they had double booked and they had put us into Palmera beach hotel, which I refused as it is only 2* at the most. We only found out as we were entering East Midlands airport to start our holiday. We had my in laws who are 87 & 82 years old and partially disabled which is why we had paid an extortionate price for a place virtually on the beach for them. We arrived basically with no where to stay and if it wasn't for very good friends who managed to find us somewhere I don't know what we would have done. Please do not book you will be totally let down and this apparently, from the ex pats who live here, happens all the time.
