We are pleasantly surprised to say the least! From the welcoming of the friendly personel to the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, everything was of a high level quality. The breakfast was also great. Other than a few minor details, for a 3-star hotel our stay was worth it. Thank you Silk Road Kokand. Ps. I would recommend you book a room facing the inner garden.

I’m so so glad I booked with Rohat for 4-night stay in Kokand. It’s centrally located within easy walking distance to the major sites of the city (mosques, the palace, etc), and there’s an awesome market right down stairs with snacks, cold drinks, and ice cream. The restaurant two buildings over serves shashlik and tea at a great price. The facilities were exceptionally clean and my room was very comfortable with a private bathroom. AC worked perfectly and kept my room comfortable at all times. But the best part of this hotel/hostel is definitely the staff. They were all incredibly helpful and welcoming, and one of the guys invited me to join him and his friends on the patio for some home cooked osh when he saw me leaving to find dinner. They were able to help me call taxis when I needed them and advised me on prices for taxis to other cities in the region. Two of the three guys at the desk I dealt with spoke fluent English, and the third speaks Uzbek and Russian. All great guys. Overall, I would recommend Rohat hostel to anyone. You won’t find a better value or more accommodating hosts to help make Kokand feel like home.

Asmald Palace Hotel is superbly located at just a few minutes walking distance from the main sights of the city: the famous Khudayar Khan’s Palace and the Park of Culture named after “Mukimiy”. The hotel has 33 specially designed and fully equipped rooms, and provide all the facilities both for work and leisure
During the check in the staff said they need to see my registration form, which they have not right to see claiming that it is their policy. When I told them there is no reason for that one of the people, who came over started to explain this to my friend in Russian. I found it very rude and unprofessional. During the check out they tried to charge us more for dried fruits we had and also put on the receipt that we had a deluxe room when we only had a standard one. Their conversion rate was also not ideal, but since the overcharge was less than two dollars a let it slide. The rooms are not soundproofed, which means that one can hear all their neighbours. Wifi is poor, but this is the case of many hotels in Uzbekistan. On the other hand, I liked the amenities in the room. Also the staff was willing to give us breakfast after the breakfast time, which was very nice of them. However, this still did not elevate their behaviour during check in and check out.

There was no water in my room. When I asked reception about water he answered they don't have it. I told him that I am paying them a money and they have to provide, I want to drink. He told me that it's not their problem and I can write a complain. This type of service never have a future. Very sad and angry...

Welcome to hotel «Istiqlol»! Since becoming independent, the Republic of Uzbekistan has widely opened its gates for tourists from all around the world and today everyone can discover the unique culture, reach and incredible traditions, historical places of Uzbekistan. As Buhara, Samarkand and Khiva, now the Ferghana Valley and its ancient Kokand welcomes you! Welcome to hotel Istiqlol!
There is not much choice in Kokand so we booked largely on the basis of reviews on Trip Advisor. What a disappointment. On the plus side, the room and communal areas were generally clean but the bathroom smelt really bad - we think from the drains. We had twin beds. The bedsheets were clean but the quilts were very stained and the pillows were hard foam. The towels were old and hard. The breakfast was very limited (grapes, cold boiled eggs, some cold meats and cheese and some cold French toast with cheese) There was also bread on offer but turned out to be rock hard, presumably from the day before. The lady on reception said we needed a check out card stamped because we were leaving Uzbekistan but this wasn’t ready so we had to return later with our guide to pick it up.
