What an excellent hotel. Right in the centre of Jumilla town. We arrived early, however although rooms were not ready we were able to check in and park the car in car park. Reception staff very friendly. Enjoyed it so much booked for next year!

We have two rooms each with an ensuite, TV, kettle with welcome tray, complimentary toiletries, free wifi, and premium towels and linens. Amazing with surprising a friend for her birthday

Reviewed By katarzynap545

I haven't been there, to be honest, but a friend of mine went there for her birthday and in order to surprise her with something special I contacted Richard before and asked him if he could help me out. Long story short: he was absolutely amazing, organized 2 bottles of wine, some crackers, and some cheese, prepared some flowers, and even made it possible for me to write a short note and some wishes and print them out. I mean how amazing can someone be. As mentioned I haven't even been a guest. But Richard helped me to prepare something amazing for a very special friend of mine. He answered all my stupid questions, helped me find the right thing, and got all the things that I have chosen. Just freaking AWESOME. This is definitely a place I want to go to at least once in my life.

Hotel Pio XII Jumilla

Average hotel

We visited the hotel for a wine tour weekend. I don’t think there are many hotels to choose from in the centre of Jumilla so it’s pretty much the only choice. Reception weren’t super helpful. One girl served us and as we had a query on the booking she just went off and gave us to another chap. Not the most welcoming of starts!!!! The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk from main bar/restaurants. It over looks waste land on one side so not a pretty view. It’s a good place to park for free though. The waste land is mostly used as a car park or locals taking dogs for walks and not picking up after them. Apparently it has a bar / restaurant but it’s not easy to find if there is one as we never found it. The rooms are clean and quite basic but adequate. It was very noisy with people dragging furniture in bedrooms around us, but we managed to sleep as there is only so long that can go in for. I wouldn’t stay again.

We returned to the lovely Casa Alegria for another visit. The hosts Mieke and Dirke were as welcoming and friendly as ever. There is an additional member of staff in the shape of Chico, their friendly, playful little dog. we had a lovely 5 days chilling here. The beds are comfy, and the breakfasts are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful hosts. we will be back soon.

La Casa del Labrador

Casa Labrador suite Uva.

Reviewed By maiczm

Casa Labrador is located out in the countryside with views of vineyards and Sierra del Carche. It is a complete one story house with kitchen and living room and shared 4 bedrooms that at sold individually. We were lucky we were the only guests and the full house was for us only. Our room Suite Uva was the largest with private entrance from the terrace. Nice area outside to sit and watch birds and stars and enjoy the complimentary bottle of wine. Large kitchen, huge dining table and living room. Great for a big family or group of friends. Electricity is provided by solar panels and generator will turn on several times at night. Bring your ear plugs. Continental breakfast is left in the kitchen. Dulce Gusto capsule coffee machine for you to use. Good wifi signal. Room is cleaned only at check out. In May 2019 it was chilly to use the nice pool. We purchased a package that included 1 night at Casa Labrador, fixed lunch at CIEN restaurant and Monastrell tasting with Visit to the Museum del Vino del Carche. Be aware that Museum and CIEN closes Wednesdays. A car is needed to visit this area of Jumilla. CIEN restaurant had a tasty rice cooked over fire with unlimited serve yourself wine from tanks. Convenient to try different wines. Museum is new with good displays of how Monstrell vineyards were planted and harvested 100 years ago. Nice shop with local goods. We took home El Faro olives and delicious Marcona Almonds. Be sure to visit this area of Jumilla on your trip to Spain.
