My daughter had a 40th birthday party with approx 60 family and friend's. It was lovely food and staff. As it was my birthday as well my daughter booked a room for us for the night . Beautiful room but on the top floor. I have copd and really struggled to get up there . Anyway Mr and Mrs hands were also at the party. So I mentioned to them and they immediately gave us a room in the courtyard and got a member of staff to go with Mrs Hands and my husband to bring all our clothes etc downstairs . We were so grateful ? to them and was touched by their kindness ❤. Wonderful owner's and so grateful. Thank you ?

spend the day fishing or looking out for wildlife like deer, rabbits and birds, all in a lovely Welsh/English border locale among old oak trees and Neolithic stones… welcome to Broadstone Park. This is a small and family-run campsite between the market towns of Monmouth and Coleford, named after those Neolithic stones and in an area with plenty of options for walking, cycling and other outdoorsy activities. A small spring-fed fishery is on site for guests' use, open daily from dawn to dusk. Facilities at Broadstone Park include a newly added toilet and shower block and a small camp shop selling local produce groceries such as free-range eggs, burgers and sausages: most of those could be sizzled up on a campfire too...
I have mixed feelings about this campsite. Likes: - Great location for access to the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire - Good ground for pitching - Large site with choice of pitches - Pleasant countryside - Friendly staff - Small bar and cafe on site - Eco Dishwashers (see below comments) at £2.20 per wash. Dislikes - Number of toilets insufficient for the volume of trade. Trough urinals resulting in unhygienic floor. - Site looking tired in places, for example, play area which is limited. - Bins area unswept with broken glass and rubbish strewn across the ground. - Installation of eco-dishwashers meaning that there is no option for handwashing cutlery using hot water in the single sink. Conclusion. If alternative options were limited then I would use this site but would prefer to shop around for alternatives. The site's facilities need to be upgraded to reflect the volume of users.

Set in the heart of the picturesque market town of Coleford, the Angel Hotel was built circa 1600 and has recently been transformed through an extensive refurbishment of the property, which has brought a modern level of comfort to this magnificent Victorian Hotel. Offering 9 en-suite rooms, each with its own individual character and the best in modern amenities, including flatscreen televisions and wireless internet access. The restaurant provides a superb dining experience whilst our bar offers a wide range of wines and premium spirits to complement your meal.
We loved our stay. Friendly innkeepers. Lively pub with lots of character. The breakfast was amazing: good and abundant. They waited for our arrival late at night as well. Clean room with four poster bed, private bathroom. All arranged according to our requests.

Award winning bed and breakfast in the Forest of Dean. We have 5 rooms all en suite rooms, along side the B&B we have a multi award winning restaurant serving locally sourced items on a Daily changing menu. We also have a selection of local ales and soft drinks
We had a lovely stay at the Miner’s Sling. The updated rooms are comfortable and stylish. Lovely touch of leaving goody bags on the beds for the children. Water, milk and juice supplied in the fridge outside of the rooms was also a nice touch. You could hear some noise from the pub downstairs but this didn’t stop our toddlers from getting to sleep. Breakfast was also great with a good selection. For only £20 more than the nearest Premier Inn, I would say it was good value for money.

We booked a 4 night stay at the Coal Store, which is a former foresters accommodation in the Forest of Dean. As others have said, it is quirky, with foliage effect decor and a large stone floor bathroom area. The manager, Jon, is a lively chap and was very helpful getting us checked in etc. Disappointed though that there were absolutely nothing available, no evening meal, no drinks ( alcoholic or soft ) no breakfast, no pizza, nothing. So we had to fend for ourselves, although there was tea and coffee in the room. We were disappointed to note that there was no door between the bedroom area and the toilet/ bathroom, so no privacy, basically. For this reason, after 2 days we upgraded to the refuge, which is a more of a self contained cabin to the side of the main building, this had a small self catering kitchen area with microwave and oven, fridge, ( which wasn’t clean ) and crucially, a bathroom door. It also had a log burner, which was crucial as there were large gaps under both external doors. There was also, allegedly, underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom, also though there were no instructions and it didn’t seem to work at all. More alarmingly, the dining table was made from the old front door of the building, and there were sharp screws sticking out of it which would have caused a nasty injury. Notwithstanding the above, the beds were comfy, it was certainly relaxing, and the manager was very pleasant. With a bit more attention to detail, safety and cleanliness, it could be great, but at £150 per night for the cabin, it really should be better at that price point. Would certainly go back if they improved on the crucial areas, and actually provided food and drink.

Christchurch Old Vicarage has of course been changed and adapted many times over the years. Growing in size and status in line with the neighbouring church, this story is entirely played out in it's style and architecture. Although still in period, the front and rear facades are completely different ! The property is set in established gardens that offer fantastic levels of privacy. Tranquil surroundings that really do make you feel as though you can relax and escape, away from the pressure of work and the hustle & bustle of a busy lifestyle. The guest accommodation is situated in the very heart of this Grade II listed home, helping to accentuate the feeling that you are treading in the atmospheric footsteps of those vicars of old. We have also made a conscious decision to only accept one group of guests at a time, reinforcing the desire to make visitors feel like they are here as house guests visiting for the weekend!
Kay, our host gave us a 5 star service during our 3 day stay, nothing was too much trouble . The Old VICARGE has beautiful & magical setting, it’s history rich and many items/decorations all around home, each with its own special story. It was a great find and suited our stay in every way, our visit was for a belated birthday celebration for our daughter, and she was extremely happy. We all slept well in the comfy beds. After the long days walking the gently massage feeling from the powerful shower was much needed or the choice of a deep free standing bath. Highly recommend this B&B that offers so much more . Thank you, Kay for your outstanding hospitality and the full English breakfast that was fit for a king/queen. We look forward to returning and discovering more of the local attractions. Thank you for spoiling us , Suriya , Ray and Aisha. From Hampton Hill, London.
