Great stay
Reviewed By I2884SGlisawThis adults only hotel is located in a quieter corner of Calan Porter overlooking the bay. Friendly staff. Lovely clean and modern rooms. Great shower and some rooms have very good views of the bay. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices including eggs and bacon as well as fresh fruit, pastries and cereals. Breakfast on the terrace is a must. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Nice pool and sun beds. Short walk down the steps to the bay but coming back up them is hard! We will definitely come back here again although in the height of summer you can expect this medium size hotel to be much busier. It could easily be a four star with just very few changes.

Awful value for money in August
Reviewed By fredd313We booked this hotel based on the pretty good reviews we saw on several sites. Our experience could not be any different from those reviews. We paid over 4600 (four thousand Six Hundred!) Euros for an apartment for the first 2 weeks of August. For this kind of money one wouldexpect the bare minimum. Unfortunately, Nelva Resort does not offer even the bare minimum. The flat was really old with a lick of paint trying to disguise the run down facility. The kitchen although recent was below par even compared to the cheapest IKEA set. Kitchen tools were old and not appropriate for a family of 5. Now, if you expect to spend a restful holiday this is NOT the place to go. The noise insulation in the building between amenities does not exist. You will hear everything that is happening in the building whatever the hour. The pool at night is used for wild parties by youngsters. Reception is completely oblivious to it and basically does not care. There is literally no night service. So all in all, considering the price we paid we are bitterly disappointed and will not advise this eesort to our friends and of course we will never be back. PS: We are definitely not used to post negative reviews but considering the lack of service we got from the resort's management (during our stay and at checkout) we think it may be useful to warn any potential customers.

Great holiday
Reviewed By Anne MWe stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the Siesta mar complex. It had everything we needed for our break with a terrace at the front and the back. The complex was clean, tidy and nicely landscaped. It had a lovely pool with plenty of sunbeds and a poolside bar. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Its in an ideal location, very close to restaurants and bars and a five minute walk to the beach. There is a supermarket just opposite. We had a fantastic holiday at the Siesta Mar and will definitely return.

During the winter of 2009, the Hotel Playa Azul has undergone a full refurbishment including a brand new, fabulous, outdoor swimming pool, overlooking stunning views of the bay and stylish, contemporary guest rooms. Popular with both families and couples this is a great choice for a relaxing holiday. In a privileged position on a hilltop, overlooking the rocky headland and sea is the Hotel Playa Azul. Just 200 metres away from the sandy beach, which is down a set of steep steps, the panoramic views are amazing. Located near to the commercial centre, the local shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife of Cala’n Porter are all within walking distance of the hotel, and downtown Mahon is just a short bus ride away.

Reviewed By KeefstaGreat Hotel. I would recommend. I stayed for 4 nights. The bed was Hard though but cant really complain. Staff were great. Nice and relaxing. Quite a few steps to the Beach so if you have mobility problems then this wont be for you.

Ideal for the beach
Reviewed By Anne FA lovely hotel with attractively furnished rooms that all have balconies with views across the gorge and in some cases of the sea as well. The beach is an easy walk away. Rooms have television, safe, enough cupboard space and an en suite with decent shower and toilet. The only thing lacking is the facility to make a cup of tea/coffee. Breakfasts are OK but not special, served in the rooftop restaurant with lovely views, a nice start to the day. To get to the rest of Cala'n Porter you have either a longish uphill walk or 180 steps up from the beach road. However, the hotel's position makes it the nicest place to stay in this place, as it's more relaxed than up in the busy top of the village. Staff are friendly and welcoming and did try to be helpful when the AC in our room was taken out by a thunderstorm which left us with five rather sticky nights.
