Lovely stay
Reviewed By RVerm55Loved staying in this warm and very convenient hotel. Plenty of things to make your stay comfortable such as the possibility to listen to music in the room/bathroom, the digital tv, different light "themes". Slightly disappointed to stay in suite without a bath. For a couple, a suite isn't much of an upgrade from a simple room (unless you plan on fighting, because the suite has a couch).

Perfect place!

The location is in the middle of the nature with a superb view, the rooms are very nice and clean, the staff is lovely, there are many activities for the kids (football, table tennis), the restaurant is delicious… could not ask for more! thanks a lot!

L'Auberge de Jeunesse de Cherbourg est installée dans un ancien bâtiment de la Marine nationale, entièrement restauré. En tant que ville maritime, Cherbourg bénéficie des effets du Gulf Stream : les plantations exotiques y foisonnent. Au cœur du centre-ville, à 500 mètres des rues piétonnes et de l'Hôtel de ville, elle est située à proximité du port de plaisance et de la Cité de la Mer. A mi-chemin entre l'Angleterre et les îles anglo-normandes, la rade de Cherbourg, port en eaux profondes, est unique en son genre. C'est la plus vaste rade d'Europe. La Cité de la Mer, un vaste complexe scientifique, ludique et culturel, vous plonge dans les abysses à la découverte des richesses sous-marines et retrace les expéditions océanographiques. Pour les amateurs de musées, Cherbourg compte trois musées majeurs : le musée d'art Thomas-Henry, le musée de la Libération et le muséum Emmanuel-Liais. Les activités nautiques sont multiples et la côte offre de belles randonnées piétonnes ou à vélo.

Reviewed By rtl2This Youth Hostel is a really pleasant location to stay. It is one of the nicer hostels I have experienced. It was warm and cozy with a decent self catering kitchen. Breakfast was included which was basic, but I felt good value considering how much the room cost. I supplemented it with a Pain Au Chocolat from a Boulangerie nearby! 20 min walk to SNCF Rail Station, 25 minute walk to Ferry Port. 5 min walk to town centre. Cité De La Mer attraction was really worth a visit - especially the submarine. Check Reception Hours before arrival, as you will not get in when Reception is closed.

Reviewed By RonnyVerminckIf you like a bit of camping, then this is the place to be. You have a choise between a chalet, a trailer or a yurt. We stayed in a trailer. There you have all you need like a, cooking place, a microwave, coffee-machine, pots and pans, dishes, etc.. Shower, toilet,..... The bed is a bit of the small size, it's 1.40m wide and if you are a bit of a large person, then it can be a bit crappy. The vieuw is great and there is hardly any noise from the surrounding area. The owners are very friendly and also helpfull if you need something. For supper, you can order in advance at the site and is very cheap for a 3 course meal. You can also get a pinch of wine for 9€/liter. The breakfast is typical French, coffee, croissants, bagguette, marmelade, some fruit, fruitjuice,.... but no meat or cheese. Afterall the stay was good and recommendable.
