It was well located and it was easy to walk around from there. Hotel was good for a basic hotel and rooftop was nice spot to have a breakfast. Wifi worked fairly well, and they sold drinks and had water station there

We are a different hotel! Hotel Santa Lucia House is strategically located in the historic center of Suchitoto, near the most representative places in the city; in turn provides an atmosphere of tranquility, away from noise, comfortable and with high standards of hygiene and cleanliness inevitably contribute to disconnect from everyday life. Casa Hotel Santa Lucia is a place where time stops to be at peace
Location can’t be beat. Breakfast included although I would rather eat pupusa in the corner next to the main church in the plaza. Shower half door is not well designed, causing water to spill out. Sweet receptionist with non contact check in. Pillow are on the too-soft side. In general a pleasant one night stay.

I have escalated and contacted Booking.com and requested a refund for this horrid stay/experience. This was supposed to be a wonderful and beautiful trip for my elderly mother who had not visited her country in 49 years. We were excited to take her back to El Salvador. Unfortunately, this was a nightmare experience. The positives about this place is the location (although very isolated); the views are beautiful when it’s not foggy or raining; the grounds are beautiful; the food is good over all. However, there is no hot water. There is no consistent heating in the rooms. There is no consistent internet. The breakfast that they advertise as “free”—all lies. There are extra hidden fees with the “free breakfast” that the staff harassed me about paying and I refused at check out based on principle. It was such a terrible experience and stay. The nerve of these people! Also, this place IS NOT 5 star hotel by US standards. This is more like a 3 star or a 3.5 at the most. And without hot water for guests, heating in the rooms (especially when it is 50 degrees outside) and no internet or inconsistent internet I don’t understand who gave them that “5 star” rating. The Ritz Carlton—that’s a 5 star, this place is NO where near. I feel completely cheated out of my hard earned money. I paid almost $300 USD per night. I had to wake up every 40 minutes to turn on the heater that would automatically shut off at 40 minutes to keep the room warm for my elderly mom so she wouldn’t get sick and catch a cold or pneumonia. They also have these eco water heaters that only dispense tepid to slightly, barely warm water out of their showers. You can hear them beeping as you try to turn on the hot water. There are no bathtubs either. The water feels cold when it hits your body. It was awful. Then there was supposed to be internet in our rooms but we did not have it so we had no television and I could not work. This was really bad as I run 3 companies in California and had no way of communication. I communicated all of these issues to the front desk via WhatsApp and also in person multiple times. My mother and sister did too. They did nothing to remedy the situation. The last straw happened at checkout when they tried to charge me extra for cappuccinos, lattes and avocado for the “free breakfast.” It was unbelievable and I got most of it on video. They harassed me so much at checkout and involved 4 employees including the restaurant manager, front desk, supervisor and they even called security. Yeah—security because I was refusing to pay their extra fees that they didn’t mention at check-in were “extra”. I had had it at that point with them and was livid. I am beyond upset that I wasted time and money on this place. There were no apologies made on their staff’s behalf for any misunderstandings, lack of heat, hot water or internet service or rudeness. I would never hire those women as employees of my own companies based on the way that they treated us. I have already begun to escalate this. From a business perspective: the hotel has much potential to be successful, however much needs to be updated, modernized and made comfortable amenities for guests, for this place to be a 4 star, much more a 5 star. The staff also needs to be properly trained on how to treat its guests and understand what it means to manage a 5 star hotel. Needless to say, we will not be back.

This place is a real Gem, set on the end of a quiet street and only a 10 minute walk into the center of town. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Central America. If you like authentic colonial architecture, you will love this place, it is definitely for real ! Clean, friendly and comfortable. I stayed 3 nights and wished I had stayed a week. They arranged transport for me and the drivers were friendly and accommodating. The onsite restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner with the best views of Lago Suchitlan in Suchitoto. Practice up on your Spanish as I didn't hear any English spoken hear during my stay.
