Welcome to Across the Bay Tent & Breakfast Adventure Company, located in the heart of Kachemak Bay, and a scenic 30-minute water taxi ride from the coastal town of Homer, Alaska. Across the Bay’s guests enjoy a real Alaskan experience while roughing it in style. We cater to the self-sufficient traveler by offering delicious home-style meals, peaceful surroundings, comfortable accommodations, and easy access to outdoor adventures.
Before my trip to Alaska I joked that I was looking for summer camp for adults. The visit to Across the Bay Tent and Breakfast provided some of that feeling again. Our group stayed in the platform tents with comfy beds, which along with the giant ferns growing around reminded me of my Girl Scout camp days. This was the point in our trip where we had an opportunity to relax and I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to do so. The location is beautiful, the home cooked meals were amazing, the kayak trip around the bay was perfect, and the views as we relaxed were peaceful. So grateful I had the opportunity to experience this perfect Alaskan spot.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in the cabin at the Seldovia Bed and Breakfast and Cabin rental. The owner/host picked us up when we arrived on the ferry and dropped us off when we left. The view from the cabin is amazing, and must be experienced to get an understanding of how much we enjoyed watching the many Eagles, Crows, Gulls, and the tides of the slough rolling in and out. We also enjoyed seeing the surrounding mountains, trees and houses on pilings. The cabin was immaculate; and has a kitchenette, bathroom, comfortable bedding, couch, t.v., small sitting table and chairs. All the amenities of a modern home, in a small, beautiful, and quaint town. Kayaks and bicycles are available for use, free of charge. A couple of notes: The only way to get to the cabin is down 44 stairs. Seldovia is a small town, and the few restaurants generally close early.

We came to Seldovia for the music festival, which is held annually at summer solstice. This small town puts on a great festival, and Seldovia Harbor Inn is a marvelous place to stay. Steve and Melissa are kind and attentive hosts, and the coffee shop/cafe on street level is perfect. (The quiches are excellent.) The one-bedroom suites are roomy, with a small kitchen and a super view of the harbor. With the futon, they can sleep up to four. You’ll want to do some cooking since Seldovia has only a couple of eateries. The Linwood Bar is a good place to eat, too. If you come to Seldovia for more than a night or two, this is a fine place to stay. Very highly recommended, but book early!!

Seldovia Rowing Club Inn is a two suite bed and breakfast estblished in 1980. A full breakfast is included. Views from the rooms incuded the tidal slough and historic areas along the Old Seldovia Boardwalk. If you like ambiance this accommodation is for you. Artist, musician, long time resident, Susan Mumma, provides interesting conversation. Often, there is a concert at the Crazy Crow Concert series (her other hat) and viewing of her artwork.
Susan, who owns the B&B is truly a people pleaser and a wonderful hostess. The room is very comfortable and easy to walk into "town" I which is small but quaint. I sat on the couch and watched eagles sore through the sky. Even watched one swoop down to grab a salmon and fly into the tree to enjoy the feast. I was truly awestruck. We took the Ferry over from Homer, I recommend highly a jump to Seldovia from Homer for a few days of true rest and relaxation. We were there several years ago, but can only mark the date as far back as 2015. We were there to enjoy the Seldovia Summer Solstice Music Festival which is a special gathering of great musicians from Alaska and beyond.

Super nice place to stay. Just opposite the boat harbor with a comfortable second floor balcony withy great views. The whole place is decorated beautifully. All the furnishings are wonderful. There's a large and comfortable common sitting area on the second floor. Even the lamps look like fishing rods and reels. Our bedroom was decorated just as nicely and was also very comfortable and clean. Mary, who is a very thoughtful and informative host, has thought of everything. Night tables with lamps on either side of the bed, ceiling fan, plenty of space, shades for the windows, clean private bathroom. It was perfectly quiet for sleeping. Mary not only let us store our suitcase after checkout while we walked around town, but graciously allowed us to use the sitting area and balcony to relax when we were done walking and we were waiting for the ferry back to Homer. The included breakfast includes several choices in the first floor café which Mary also runs. I wish every place we stayed was as nice as this.
