Our first engagement with this place should probably have been a warning. After making a booking and paying a deposit (via bank transfer) I received no confirmation of receipt, despite chasing. I was left with the nagging feeling that this part of our holiday might not go to plan. A day in advance of arriving I emailed again to check what time our accommodation might be available and to my surprise and relief I got a response saying we could check in after 1500hrs. When we arrived (two adults, two children) we got offered a 'studio' instead of a room but were give the choice of either. Both smelt damp - the room more so - so we opted for the studio but not without misgivings as it still only had a very small sofa bed for our 12 and 10-year-olds to sleep on. Our room was up some rather dangerous stairs into the eves and next to a very busy noisy main road. When we asked for a key we were told there wasn't one, which left us feeling unsafe. The pool however was extremely nice and we decided to stay. However on our first full day the son of the proprietor was extremely rude to our son when he tried to jump in to the pool and then made a snide comment to some other guests in French. That, alongside the poor quality and insecure accommodation, confirmed our feeling that we shouldn't stay the whole five days. We gave the proprietor 48 hours notice we'd only stay for 3 day (we still had activities booked near Corte) and she was extremely difficult and annoyed that we'd shorten our stay. Eventually she conceded we had a right to change our plans but my goodness the sulk - she was cross and haughty for the rest of our stay. Very disappointing and very glad we left. Corte's lovely and there were some nice hotels by Restonica which provides all the swimming you could possibly want. I'd go there... they might not smoke in the kitchen while you're eating breakfast...

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in this small 12 room hotel. Fairly standard size modern room with mini fridge and kettle (although no tea and coffee supplies) Comfortable bed. Very nice, big bathroom with separate toilet and huge walk in shower. Sunny balcony with little table and chairs. Reasonable value for money. Small pool. Only 6 loungers though and looses the sun by 3.30pm. Jacuzzi you can book to use but expensive. In these Covid times breakfast available to order at specific time for 7 euro for express or 14 euro for full (but no hot options) We liked the location as quiet and on outskirts of town - 10 mins walk, heading to the Restonica Valley. Also means has own parking Staff are friendly and helpful. On the downside there is no bar or even a vending machine if you want a drink or snack. Our room only had a portable and very noisy air con unit with a hose. This meant you had to leave the balcony door open which was OK as we were upstairs. Wouldn't be happy though if it was the same arrangement in the ground floor rooms.

By booking this B&B we were expecting a bit more sharing by the hosts of the "farm experience" in particular for the kids. It is run more like a hotel than a B&B. The hostess was very nice and helpful, the rooms are nicely decorated and clean, there are lounge chairs in the garden and the pool is clean. The food was ok but again being in a farm, we'd have expected a bit more local flavour, in particular at breakfast which was pretty basic.

Arriving at Corte station, we looked at the town and realised it was a long walk ahead.Halk an hour later we reached the town and decided to phone for help.In five minutes Alain arrived and took a case in each hand. We soon arrived at the fountain in the main street and were then only yards from the hotel. This comprised 2 modern blocks with parking behind. The rooms were roomy with a nice bathroom and a small kitchenette. The large bed was very comfortable. After looking around the town,we decided on the restaurant of the same name adjacent to the hotel, and assumed they are linked. The Corsican menu of wild boar stew was good and we followed it was a local flan. The next night we had a venison stew followed by a local cheesy dessert. On both visits we drank enjoyable local wines. The food and service were good on both visits. Leaving the hotel the next morning,we engaged the help of Alain and it was all downhill to the station. Thanks to Alain and all those that made this a very enjoyable visit.
