We stayed in the Casita Bosque del Mar, which was beautifully designed. It had two full or queen-size beds and a daybed; a large porch with table and four chairs, two rocking chairs, and an outdoor loveseat; a small kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, and microwave; and an incredible bathroom with an enormous stone shower. From our porch and on the property, we saw and heard tons of birds and howler monkeys. We also saw a sloth on the property. The breakfasts were amazing, as was the farm tour. Highly recommend!

At the finca Mei Tai, we can accomodate up to 3 parties, no more. That is because we want to guarantee the best attention to our guests. We want people to leave happier than when they arrived. Therefore, we insist upon the personalized check in, we cook our bread every day and we serve fresh juices with fruits from the garden. Our guests can freely hike the trails to lead them thru the orchards, around the pounds, in the cocobean fields or even in the primary forest. After all, the finca Mei Tai is one of the rare places around Bijagua where primary forest still exists.
We really loved our stay at Finca Mei Tai. The room was wonderful and the hosts superb. We were there during a period of a lot of rain, but they had great suggestions for things to do without getting soaked. The breakfasts were outstanding and they directed us tasty restaurants in Bijagua. I would very much recommend staying there if you are in that area.

Lovely elegant rustic accommodation in a beautiful hillside location surrounded by pretty gardens attracting many types of birds. Daniel and Dominique are perfect hosts who make sure you are happy during your stay. Warning - Dominique’s homemade baking for breakfast can be dangerous to your waistline.

With its proximity to Tenorio National Park, Finca La Amistad owns about 25 percent of original rainforest. We planted on eight hectares various species of native hardwoods, on about 50 hectares we grow different varieties of the noble Trinitario cocoa in the mixed cultivation system. We invite you to get to know our farm better. Our employees are at your disposal to help you understand the process
Pros: Beautiful huge cacao farm with lots of cacao and banana trees They were very welcoming—we got hot chocolate upon arrival Tasty cacao products to try and for sale as well (try their cacao pulp juice!) Many dogs on the property but they’re friendly Big, cozy wooden house with lovely private deck Free Cacao tour every day Cons: They don’t speak English (except for 1-2 guys who aren’t always around)—at least some Spanish is a must Wifi didn’t really work in the room (it was somewhat better around the reception area) Bath tissue cannot be thrown into the toilet but has to go into a trash bin which creates a “smell”… In the evening in the shower the temperature of the water couldn’t be set properly—it was warm then went cold after about 30 seconds It was a very particular stay and we really enjoyed our time there including the cacao farm tour.

We are located one kilometer from Tenorio's National Park Entrance (Rio Celeste). We are a friendly Hotel Family of 6 members and we have 9 rooms and 1 rustic Restaurant where the same family prepare the local food with firewood and fresh begatables from our farm. We also offer Spa and several tours. Come and enjoy with us this Natural paradise.
We didn’t stay at the hotel, but we did the horseback riding with David Tours. He was a funny happy guy and his English level was great (we don’t speak Spanish.) His horses are lovely, they are not scared of anything. The ride took place in a very difficult terrain, but the horses handle everything perfectly, so even if you’re a complete beginnere like me it is safe.

Our place is a small and cozy 8 room hotel with a common kitchen in the garden. We offer double, triple and quadruple rooms. Hotel Cacao is 8 kilometers from the main entrance to the Tenorio Volcano National Park or as it is known, Rio Celeste. Other nearby attractions include Cano Negro and "Las Hornillas," a private location with thermal water, where visitors can enjoy wonderful mud baths, from the Miravalles Volcano.
We stayed here for one night in February 2020 (pre-Covid). There were tiny flying bugs in our room but I assume that’s to be expected for the area. This hotel was very affordable and apparently included a great home cooked breakfast but we had to leave too early for our hike to Rio Celeste to enjoy it. All in all, it was nice enough for a stopover, and as close to Rio Celeste as we thought we could get (I wish we had stayed right next to Rio Celeste at the Hideaway but it’s definitely pricier and we would’ve missed out on our amazing meal at Pizzeria el Barrigon in downtown Bijagua).

Recomiendo 1000%
