Great Memories Elephants Care Sanctuary Phuket is a place where we ethically rescue, rehabilitate, formerly mistreated elephants, we take them in as our own and provide them with all the things they need for good health and a forever home. Our mission is to find emotionally and/or physically disabled or sick elephants, to rescue and provide them with the therapy they need to recover, and a forever place to call home. To give them a life with a family that cares for them, so that they can stay strong and be happy. You can visit our park, choose to just enjoy a couple of drinks and Thai dishes while watching the elephants roam in the valley or to take part in a few activities which include; bathing, vitamin ball making, feeding, showering and massaging them. As well as our extra activities of cooking class on local Thai dessert and rubber tapping.

Amazing National Park, you will need to wear good shoes as well as good eyesight to follow it. There are several drop pools all quite small but big enough to bathe in. The jungle closes in after a while but it's a cool and even romantic spot to visit if you are in that area. Is a popular recreational spot for islanders. They use the site as a picnic place and for a fun swimming, and if you expect to be there late afternoon take mosquito repellent as the jungle is quite dense. For as its 200 baht. Keep the ticket; you may need it later if you visit the other parks within the same day. The parking fee for cars 30 baht.

I went to the 4 hr trekking with feelphuket.com . They had very professional local guide who grew up in the forest. It is a great trip if you are regular hiker and interested walking in dense forest and non-paved paths. The trek is not for beginners, another couple that walked with us were extremely exhausted. As they have fallen trees from time to time, we have to climb over the dead trunks and the guide might change the route from time to time. Make sure you wear light long sleeves clothing to avoid mosquito bites. (The mosquitoes gonna penetrate through leggings and tights). Be prepared to get your shoes in mud. My boyfriend and I always walk slow because we keep taking photos of different wildlife! We saw Rough-necked monitor, the only crab species Phricotelphusa, durian, many amazing palms and bamboos. It was raining at the later part of the trip and the route going down to the waterfall is steep and slippery! It was truly a unique experience to hike in a rain forest. We also visited the Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre and donated some money to them! This forest is very important habitat for the wild population. It was so good I had great Thai food at the restaurant at the Bang Pae Waterfall.
