Ever since acquainting herself with 'The Bridges of Madison County' my wife has been desperate to see a covered bridge so we made a quick short detour to see this. It's very well-preserved and to her mild disappointment more modern [1932] than she anticipated. However two or three photos later she left satisfied to have chalked up one more travel target.

We have visited numerous local museums in the past year and found Oakland Oregon Museum to be small, but one of the best. It is very well done. it has several excellent displays that depict everyday life in the 1800s such as banking, railroads, home life, school life, mercantile/business and more. There is several very nice organs and musical related items to see.
The museum is open every day except holidays. It is staffed by very very nice and friendly volunteers who are very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions one might have.
While free, they do have a donation box. I happily donated a few dollars given the high quality of this small local museum.
We parked on the street next to the museum. The museum is in the historic area of Oakland.

This is really a nice place to play golf. The greens are always in good shape. Lots of grass in fairways and rough. Some burned out spots in the rough. Nice tee boxes and a challenging but not deadly course. They have some tournaments but you can always get a good tee time. If your on a budget they offer lower priced tee times later in the day and Tightwad Tuesdays make Tuesday a great deal. I really like the course. Had a hole in one there this summer. The scenery is great. Lots of deer, turkeys and geese for your wildlife fix. Had my wallet stolen out of my cart here so don't leave your wallet visible in the cart. Really a fun course though.

Although the drive wound up and down a gravel road, the setting was beautiful. Cautiously greeted by their two Boxers, we entered their tasting room which was cozy but comfortable. Very friendly informative family member served us, owners were busy with a wedding but still took the time to greet us. Wine was nice. We are beginning to realize, after visiting 10 wineries along the Oregon Winery Trail, that Oregon red wine lacks the robust flavors we love but are still nice table wines. Their tasting fee is very reasonable and deducted from any purchase. Hubby chose a white to take home, something I don't drink, but it was very reasonable and he enjoyed it in his sampling. Would recommend a visit as the wine is reasonable and the other couples tasting really enjoyed the whites.

We really enjoyed our visit to Reustle. We sat outside on a nice warm day, tasting wine paired with delicious bites. We found the wines to be reasonably priced for the quality, and the overall experience was just delightful. We will certainly stop here again when in the area.

I found an Umpqua Valley Wine Tour guide in the hotel tour rack and looked like a fun thing to do for the day. I like these small family owned and operated wineries because you never know what you will find. The woman behind the counter was friendly and knowledgable about the wines she was pouring. We liked all of the wines we tasted but we already had several bottles in the car. Next time we will start buying wine here before exploring other wineries. This is a bit off the paved roads and takes a sharpe eye to spot the turns but it is well worth the effort. May be the second best wines if the day.

I haven't been camping here for a few years, but it was great when I went 1 to 1-1/2 years. I was told by someone that they have now made the spaces smaller? We would get there early, and always get a campground by the river. Very peaceful with the sound of the river flowing by! Nice area for large groups above.
