The Logarska Dolina area is often listed as an afterthought or secondary side trip on many travel iteneraries planned. I would recommend you move that up to a primary "must see" locale if you're visiting Slovenia or southern Austria. The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking; massive Mountains surrounding fabulously green Valleys all pretty easily accessible. Stay in Luce if you stay overnight, or day trip from Ljubljana or Lake Bled. Opening your eyes here is like seeing what you imagine Europe to look like; alpine beauty all around. And, stop at the tourist information center (Center Rinka) in Solcava for details about the high mountain pass drive that is just about the town. It's worth it and only takes about 30+ minutes, but provides some of the best views of alpine Mountains I've ever seen....and, some super cute churches, bee keeping villages, etc. You will be rewarded with a visit here to Logarska Dolina! [There is a waterfall hike at the end of the road in the central valley (Logarska Dolina) that is very pretty...but, more strenuous than I think is worth if for most travelers; and nearly impossible for elderly or handicapped folks. I'd skip it unless you have endless amounts of time and love to hike....about a 20 minute hike up to the waterfall.]

Center Rinka - multipurpose centre for sustainable development Solcavsko connects different activities for sustainable development of the region and offers new development possibilites. In the basement of the builing, there is a tourist information point for visitors of the Solcavsko region. The core of this floor is the multipurpose hall for multimedia presentations, lectures, educational programmes, seminars, workshops, guest Exhibitions or smaller cultural presentations. There is a circular permanent exhbition about life and nature in Solcavsko with a title: Solcavso - a Walk into the Lap of the Alps takes you for a stroll from an pre-historic dwelling to a house, on a farmyard, to the wood and the sheep, to the forest, to a stream, to a mountain pasture and into the Mountains. On the ground floor there is an exhibition and selling space for products of Solcavsko and wider.
The center provides different useful leaflets in more languages, books and they have a great educational exhibition of ethnography there. Staff speaks English. Upstairs we had a tea, the restaurant is in Alpine style, wooden furniture and beverages for reasonable price. We bought there a fantastic local organic sausages and a package of herbal tea.
Across the street there is a small local restaurants and cash machine in case you need to withdraw money. Parking and wifi available too.

There is a beautiful view from this church on the panaramic road, but it is very easy to miss the turn off from Solcava. Be sure to look for signs pointing to the the left for the Panoramic Cesta and a separate sign for the Sveti Duh so you don't get lost.
We did!

I've been visiting the church since childhood. But it is still interesting to eneter - I love the upper part called kor, where singers are and the organ pipe. And there is also space for some visitors, prayers. Church is just a short walk from Solčava center, so dont miss it! There are 3 paths to reach it. The view is not spectacular but still worth the effort.

The chapel stands at the beginning of the most beautiful part of Logarska valley. It is just a few meters from the main road and close to the junction, where the road to Pavlicevo sedlo and Austria starts to climb. Nice stop for some pictures, quick paceful rest, but not much more.

Garden of medical plants that lies on ideal forest clearing is based on the book »Zdravje bolnikov« (Health of patients) from 1866, written by local healer and scholar Vid Strgar – Fida. »Fidova zijalka« cave is a part of Fida's grove and was his shelter and his home for nine years. There you can see karst underground features and in silence surrender to your thoughts and meditation.
Fidov's grove is connected with a presentation of a local healer from 19. century Vid Strgar in nearest local inn. Name of the inn is Gostišče Firšt. Path is interesting during the summer season. After a heavy storm in December 2017 it is nearly innaccessible. Ask before you go in the inn: (03) 839 46 78. Preveri dostopnost po hudi nevihti decembra 2017.
