Didn't really know what to expect .. few tourists but thousands of Iranians and a lot of extremely friendly clerics who were happy to talk to us and pose for photos. We arranged for a wonderful well spoken cleric to take us around the shrine, but not into the inner sanctum. Truly amazing place and atmosphere, both inside and outside.
Women visitors have a separate entrance and have to wear a chandor .. but wasnt a problem.

This mosque has a story in the muslim shia sector; it been built in orders of the 12th imam (almahdi).
shia muslims visit this mosque every day asking god to release their imam from his hidden (read about imam mahdi), specially in Thursday they are gathering in very larg numbers there becouse they believe that the imam will be there in some Thursday.
Its very nice place to spend time with family. Wearing hejab for womens is required inside the mosque, also it is nice place for photographers and filmmakers to get nice and beautiful landscape and time lapses.

Not sure you realise just how important or big this area is. Has its own motorway turn off and underground parking and shopping centre. Place for people to gather and talk as well as being of religious significance. Women and men very conservatively dressed to other parts of Iran but welcomed us as UK visitors.

We’ve had the honor of being the only place in the world, where Kharmohre (Persian Blue Beads) is still being produced by applying Qom-Technique method. We try to teach more and more people about Kharmohre and Qom-Technique through our Kharmohre workshops to keep the technique alive. Visitors are always welcomed to walk in the center and see the production process.
We had an amazing experience visiting saadatmand's blue beads production. Persian Blue beads have been produced in Wom since 6000 years ago. Nowadays the only producer of these beads in Iran is Saadatmand family. The owner is very welcoming and tourist friendly. They showed us a great movie about Persian blue beads while we were enjoying Persian black tea and cookies.
