We rented a car from halifax and drove to Peggy's Cove. took about 40 mins. This gave us the flexibility to be there between tour buses which gave us great photo opportunities without many tourists! The restaurant at the lighthouse is fabulous. Great lobster, chowder, gingerbread, apple cider (hard or not).

While I was visiting this lovely shop, a staff member demoed the how pewter pieces are made and poured sand dollars. - It was fascinating. The shop was filled with beautifully made products and there were many to choose from - everything from pretty necklaces, lovely boxes, beautiful picture frames, and ornaments to individual hummingbirds, shells, starfish, crabs, lobsters, etc. I found the perfect gift for every nature lover on my list.

This is a great shop to see local artisans work. I was very impressed with the quality of the pieces and the variety of types of work that were available. I started up a conversation with one of the people staffing the store that morning and it was one of the artists who had pieces for sale. It was great to get to meet the artist and hear how they got started making their artwork. This old house is also a great place to look at the lighthouse from. The glass in the windows is the original glass from the house and makes a unique lens to look at the lighthouse through.
