Wife and I shopped at the Mercantile after breakfast. Made sense that the shoppers were made up of 90% women and 10% men since most all the items for sale were kitchen and cooking related. Makes sense, but would have been nice to have a few things guys might like to purchase, like ranch and horse rustic deco stuff. Lots of people, but managed to get around with not too much difficulty. Did not purchase anything, but they did have some unique items that you might not see at your hometown stores.

I had a friend visiting from Australia, and she wanted to see "the prairie" and buffalo. So we drove from Oklahoma City to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve near Pawhuska, OK and were so thrilled --- saw hundreds of bison (buffalo) as well as picturesque views of the prairie landscape. The Visitor Center was great, and the staff there were extremely friendly and informative. The buffalo were near the road and we were able to get good photos right from our car (there are warnings to NOT approach the buffalo). It was a little over a two hour drive from Okla. City, and well worth it.

My daughter, granddaughter and I went to Sunday mass at this church since we were in town. The people were so friendly and the mass was inspirational. This church is beautiful. It has probably some of the most amazing stained glass windows I have ever seen in a churck.

The Osage Tribal Museum is surprisingly small yet worth the visit. The first (of two rooms) dives into Osage tribal history and provide a great overview of the development of the tribe and the history of journey to its ultimate home in Osage County. The second room is an art gallery. We spent most of our time in the first room. The museum also hands out gift / craft bags for the kids, which included good quality watercolor paints and a puzzle. This stop was a win for all!

There was nothing wrong other than he does need to be reworked and many board could be replaced. It looked like a long ago forgotten attraction that couldn't maintain any appeal. For the first time for this type of thing for kids, with parents, they'd most likely love it!

We camped here one night and walked s break trails. This is a beautiful park and it is very well maintained. The bathroom facilities were just immaculate and the staff very friendly. Around 9pm the park superintendent was checking on the campers and we had such a great talk with his. Such a nice young man who is very proud of his Park and staff - and it certainly shows.

Intrigued by the name and the scrap metal sculptures on the sidewalk, my daughter and I decided to pay a visit while in Pawhuska. This place is filled with colorful metal sculptures of animals and flowers for the yard, wooden architectural decorative pieces, signs to hang on the wall, Talevera pottery, and so much more! It also serves as a gun shop and a pawn shop. The staff was so friendly and funny that they made our visit a delight and my daughter ended up buying two metal sculptures which were carefully wrapped for our long ride home.
