The museum is situated in the village of North Weald at what was the main entrance to the former Royal Air Force North Weald fighter base.
We really enjoyed our time at the museum. We were met by Steve who gave us a warm welcome and introduction to the museum. We had an hour to wander around the exhibits and found it fascinating; the five rooms cover the airfield’s history from mid-WW1 to the jet age with a wide range of items and photos. Any questions we had were answered by Steve with knowledge and enthusiasm. Highly recommended, we’ll be returning!

I took a 4 year old and a one year old to the soft play and farm fir the very first time. They both had a wonderful time, the play areas were well kept both indoor and outdoor with lots to do. The staff were lovely and food was lovely and very reasonably priced and you can stay for as long as you like !! Which is fab when you have children who don’t want to go home. We will definitely go again. Thank you

Andrew Walsh launched Carlimits in 1998. He realised that there were a lot of people out there who had very fast cars and no idea what to do with them. He decided that his mission should be to change all that. His ethos is simple. Take you and your car to the boundaries of what you think you are capable of, and then charge right through them. The purpose behind it is even simpler - there are too many people out having to hang their heads and quietly weep as their beloved (and usually quite new) motor is dragged out of the lamppost/hedge/ditch/someone's front garden/worse because they lost it on a corner and didn't know what to do - and as fellow Petrolheads, we just don't think that's right! So now you're sitting there, twirling your car keys in one hand and your mobile 'phone in the other, and you're thinking "Okay, sounds great so far, but what will I actually be doing when I get to you? And more importantly, am I going to end up feeling like a berk in front of a load of strangers because I've never done this kind of thing before?" The short answer to that last bit is "No". If you come and spend a day with us we tailor it to suit you, not the other way around. If there's something specific you want to work on, let us know and we'll do it. We run the courses on an airfield with plenty of space around you so if you get it a bit wrong the worst thing you can hit is a soft bendy cone or the grass. And if that doesn't make you feel any better, the maximum amount of people we have on a normal driver training day with us is four and we can guarantee you won't be the only one worried about making an idiot of themselves. So what can you expect? Well, we have a high-speed bend for a start. You'll learn what understeer and oversteer feels like on that and how to correct it. You're learning, so you'll end up spinning the car, but don't worry because it's practically mandatory - in fact, you'll probably feel left out if you don't! We'll teach you a different steering technique, how to use balanced throttle, trailing throttle, we can also cover left foot braking, heel and toe and even how to control the rotation of your car and get it back inline from 90 degrees - how cool does that sound? It gets better, because in the afternoon you get to play on the circuit and put all those things into practice and learn even more stuff. There's more too because if you don't want to use your own car (or can't because of that row with the lamppost we mentioned earlier) you can hire our very own Lotus Elise - who said having no car is a valid reason not to be here! Our Supercar Experiences allow you to get into the driving seat of a selection of cars with one of our Gallardo car instructors beside you, imparting their knowledge and helping you get to grips with the vehicles on our circuits. Even better, you don't even need a driving license to drive on the day - as long as you're a minimum of 12 years old and 5ft tall, non-license holders are welcome! Our events start with sign on at which point you'll make that difficult decision of which cars to drive, followed on by a drivers briefing and then it'll be time for you to sit in, buckle up and enjoy the noise of the engine and feel the acceleration as you enjoy a super drive!
I bought the 3 girls the Audi driving experience for Christmas and this was arranged for the 17th September 2018 in North Weald. We arrived nice and early and used the Red Bus catering that "is not part of the experience and managed by a seperate company". Have seen lots of reviews that put the two services together, their not. Food was good BTW. Anyway, once the girls had all arrived, we proceeded to a swift check-in and the girls then went for the briefing. We didn't opt for the spotting lap - As many have said, £5 for a lap in a minibus isn't exactly as thrill but choose if you do not feel comfortable finding your way around. Also, after reading many reviews, this IS NOT a race day so do not expect a track. This is cleverly constructed lap created with cones.. Not too small, not too big but was right for the girls to have fun. From the experience, they had 8 laps each. Lambo, Aston martin and the R8. I also paid an extra £15 each for a lap in the Lotus with a pro-driver. Yes, this isn't cheap but where else does that happen (Unless you joy ride of course!) The ONLY criticism I have is the cost of the pics and vids. £45.00 isn't a viable option in my opinion and I think they would make more £ by lowering the cost to make them more appealing. Overall, the girls had an awesome day. The other thing to note, I didn't think I would be able to drive as the weight limit does state 18st but speaking to them, if you can fit in a car, you can drive it so if you are a bigger lad / lass - Go for it!
