At Wild River Outfitters, we look forward to serving you on the beautiful Upper St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers. We serve paddlers on 150 miles of this National Wild and Scenic Riverway.
We stopped to get some wood for our campsite and found it was an outfitter for the river. With it being 91° all weekend, we decided water was our best option. They were “full-service” providing us with kayaks, vests, and transportation to the drop site. All for a super reasonable price. The outfitters were run by an older couple, so everything’s still pretty “old school”. But you get that same “old school” customer service. We had an excellent time chatting with and learning from them.

Recently opened micro-brewery in downtown Grantsburg with a large patio overlooking Memory Lake. We have 12 Brickfield beers on tap with something for everyone. Visit our Facebook page or website for hours, food truck schedule and special events.
We were surprised to find this place in a small town like Grantsburg. According to my family the beer was excellent and smooth. They returned the next day and had the same flavors. Lots if families here with outside seating and games provided. We played a game of sorry sitting at a picnic table on the patio Beautiful view of the lake. They have pop available in cans for non-beer drinkers. You can also get a ready made pizza bajed. Great place to just chill and relax.

We took a day trip here with friends who are regular visitors. The Visitor Center and bathrooms were closed, but there was a scenic overlook in the managed area that had pit toilets. That area was quite bad with biting horseflies, and we couldn't get to the plaque for the overlook because some people were picnicking and using it as a table. Seriously. The meadows are full of birds and wild flowers. We drove a lot on dirt and rock roads (no way would I call them gravel). We got very close to cranes (they walked toward us and were very curious), saw Trumpeter Swans bathing, and saw many ducks and songbirds. Near the end of our drive, we saw a pair of adult loons with a baby riding on mom's back (ok, we assumed it was mom). Bring binoculars. The area is wide open and quite beautiful. The ponds were full of blooming water lillies when we were there. In front of the Visitor Center is a display pole with different kinds of bird houses that are labeled by species. Simple but very interesting! We will definitely go back!
