Where nature and art collide. Ponds and Plants is part botanical garden, part pet store, part zoo, part playground, part wildlife refuge, and part sculpture garden.
We have an almost 2 year old and she absolutely loves this place! For $9, my husband and I are covered as well as a huge cup of koi pond food. When you arrive, you will see several peacocks walking around freely. They are very friendly and like when you feed them. There are a ton of beautiful, eclectic sculptures and landscaping features that the owners have built themselves. There is an indoor area with snakes, lizards, birds, fish, and even a pair of personable marmosets. Once you go back outside, you will find really cool greenhouses full of plants and lily pads. There are rabbits, turtles, emu, pigs, prairie dogs, and more! Oh, and my daughter's favorite part is feeding the koi fish. There are at least 100 of them. The art throughout provides a beautiful background for really good pictures. Everything outside is interactive and there are a lot of different play aspects. They even have an area for birthday parties. This is the best kept secret around Chattanooga. Our favorite way to spend the day is to head to one of Dayton's delicious restaurants and then spend a couple hours at Ponds and Plants. Do yourself and your kids a favor and GO!
