A beautiful area, wonderful flora and fauna. Rare orchids like the Bee Orchid and Fly Orchid grow in the area plus other rare wild flowers. One of the best areas for the greater yellow rattle, it flowers look like a parrots beak. Beautiful butterflies including the Marble White which is stunning, red admirals, painted ladies, peacocks etc Plus the daytime moth the 6 Spot Burnett. Woods are carpeted in stunning English Bluebells come April/May time. And the different birds are amazing eg Greater and lesser spotted woodpeckers, tree creepers, nuthatches, different species of both the tit and finches. Kestrels and buzzards. Plus red kites have been seen flying over for a few years now. Permissive horse ride routes, plus sheep and cows are kept in the area to maintain it. A view of London can be seen from the adjoining Farthind Downs. There is a Facebook group page called Friends of Farthing Downs and Happy Valley. But it's for all local countryside areas. Amazing photos are posted on there. Worth joining.

What a wonderful find for parents and grandparents. A delightful, well organised place and the coffee etc are excellent. Great value and it deserves to do well. We will definitely return.
