A small guest ranch, where you can go for some amazing trail rides through the mountains. We offer lessons, liberty/horse whispering demos and trail rides. We also have some very great miniature horses to offer little kids their first horse experience. We also have a little shop on the ranch where you can find some great souvenirs and anything you could need and want as a horse lover. We have 4 guest cabins located in the middle of nature, the ranch is located only 2 minutes from high way 5, which makes it a perfect location for overnight stop or your dream horse holiday.
Discover Canada Tours organized this trip to the Willow Ranch for breakfast on the last day of a four day trip of the Canadian Rockies. It was like leaving the best for the last. After checking out from our hotel in Valemount early morning at 7 am were driven down to the ranch a little distance away from the hotel. Real cowboys and horses were waiting for us. Willow Ranch is a real ranch with horses, donkeys, a breakfast kitchen, 2 bonfires, a broken down jalopy, and real cowboys and ranchers. We started with a cup of black coffee and got a plate of hash browns, and a muffin with a cheese slice and a tomato slice. We had to serve ourselves directly from the open ranch kitchen which is run by the resident family. There were wooden tables and benches besides the kitchen and ranch house. Then there was a session of lassoing, throwing, hammering a nail in to a log of wood, and some dancing. Everyone had a jolly time here with us learning to lasso and line-dance with our new friends from around the world. Even our dignified friend from Japan was enjoying doing the line dance. They do have some cabins for lodging as well as a gift shop where you can buy some cowboy style stuff. They arrange horse riding trips on the mountain trails too.

Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. They gave us excellent suggestions on where to swim ( Lake Eleanor in Blue River), where to hike ( Little Lost Lake & Berg Trail to Kinney Lake). You can even watch the salmon run behind the tourist center. Unfortunately, they were not there while we were. That was my only disappointment. Our three days there was wonderful, thanks to their advice. Bought some cool T-shirts there & natural mosquito bug spray.
