We really stumbled upon this park. Our little cab over camper took us here and decided to stay 5 nights. There is a lottery system that we didn't understand but we were lucky enough to pay for 5 nights and stay. Showers and bathrooms are clean and staff helpful. Firepits and tables. A gorgeous beach to run a mile and a half to the Pier to the North and another mile at least to the south. The Pacific ocean is a magic element that is good for the soul. Thank you. Cannot wait to come back.

The bar menu and happy hour specials offer plenty of options and are really good. Best clam chowder around and the shrimp and crab cocktails are scrumptious. The restaurant offers the freshest seafood flown in from Seattle and other places. (Iv'e seen them unloading huge halibut and other fish off the back of an ice truck!)

Park at the parking lot where Pacific Coast Highway heads into San Clemente and turns into Camino Real. Walk south and you will get to the San Clemente Pier and beach area. Stop at the fisherman for a libation or the ice cream parlor across from the pier and then head back north to your car. Best enjoyed at the end of the day as the sun is heading west.

Popular with swimmers and surfers, this state park features 3.5 miles of sandy beaches.
I used to walk down the hill from the San Clemente Inn to the beach and then walk along the beach pathway to the very end and take the bus back to the San Clemente Inn. The beach pathway is really well maintained and safe and their are lots of well maintained bathrooms/washrooms. This pathway is incredible. I walked it almost every day.

A must stop on the way to San Diego from LA. This outlet has expanded the number of stores quite a bit since I visited last. The outlets at San Clemente includes many of my favorites stores like the pop up Lululemon store, Black and White, Ralph Laurence, Coach, Tumi, Under Armor and more. My wife comes here solely to shop at Black and White. This is one of the few outlets has the Black and White store. She also likes to shop at Lululemon too. I like the fact this outlet has the Pearl Izumi bike apparel shop. Again not too many outlets has this store. In fact, this is the only outlet I have been too has this brand. This is also a good rest stop since this is almost half way to San Diego from LA. There are a few restaurants here too with good food. I normally dine at Ruby’s restaurant. They have very good fries and burgers. During the holiday season, this outlet is very festive with exotic Christmas decorations. The outlet features the tallest Christmas tree in California, maybe the whole of the US. It is nice to feel the Christmas spirit here amidst the depressing feelings of the Pandemic.
