We are a small family run business that offers high quality trips to the breathtaking ice caves in Vatnajökull glacier in south east Iceland for the lowest price you can find. The meeting point for the ice cave tour is at the Jökulsárlón (glacier lagoon) Close to the shop I park the car, and it is good to be there 30 min before the trip.

It was on my self planned itinerary as an optional thing. We decided it was worth swinging by to see since it’s not far off the main road. I’d heard reviews of it being gross so we thought we’d have a look then decide. The attendant happily let me look at the pools before we paid. They were spotless. Your admission also comes with towel to use which was nice. The change rooms were literally just a big open room with a bench. No stalls or anything. The bathrooms were next door so I imagine you could change in there if you were self conscious. We ended up spend about two hours just relaxing in those pools and enjoying the scenery. We were the only people there the whole time. For about an hour, even the attendant left for his lunch. Talk about blissful relaxation. So many tubs to choose from, some deeper and bigger then others, all different temperatures. There’s an outdoor shower to wash before you get in the pools.

An entrance fee is required at the Viking cafe, and you get access to the entire area, including the Viking movie set. We could not get to the movie set as the parking was pretty far away. There are no proper carparks as indicated on the map. You just stop anywhere by the road. The weather was good when we reached, and every photo of the mountains came out so dramatically beautiful. Definitely did not regret coming to this place.
