Henan (Chinese: 河南) is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the central part of the country. Henan is often referred to as Zhongyuan or Zhongzhou (中州) which literally means "central plain land" or "midland", although the name is also applied to the entirety of China proper. Henan is the birthplace of Chinese civilization with over 3,000 years of recorded history, and remained China's cultural, economical, and political center until approximately 1,000 years ago.

We went to Jiao zhuo from zhengzhou since we couldnt find any tour guide from Zhengzhou. The next morning took a taxi to Yuntaishan. Wonderful place especially the Red Stone gorge which should never miss.

This is a famous martial arts monastery, the birthplace of both kung fu and Zen Buddhism
As a child, I have always been fascinated with Shaolin temple! Truly a gem of China! It is no longer a “working temple” per say, but you do see a handful of people who would pray to the gods. A must visit place! Had a private tour with Spring (ask me for his contact) and he is knowledgeable as well with the history of the temple. Got the chance to see a little bit of Kungfu show as well! Do come and explore the grounds!

This is a Chinese cultural theme park showing a variety of activities and historical events from the Song dynasty that had its capital in Kaifeng. It is definitely not a high brow cultural centre but is very popular with Chinese tourists, and does have plenty of activities to see. The trick is to follow the sequence of demonstration events which are numbered and timetabled on the map handed out at the entrance. Overall, this park will mainly work if you have a Chinese guide who can explain the events and something about the historical context. There are stalls and shops dotted around, plus a good sized food area. Amongst the stalls are a few artisans with interesting crafts (eg sugar figure blower and hot pokerwork on wood). There is a night show with lights but we went during the day.

We arrived in Luoyang pretty late in the peony flower season and only the International Peony Garden (being in a higher place and cooler) still has many varieties and colors of peony flowers in full bloom. Perfect for photo enthusiasts!

Saw this show during our visit to the Shaolin Kung Fu temple complex. These students are so talented. The commentary was all in Chinese but it didn’t matter because the talent needed no explanation. Amazing. Kids & adults will love this. Brings action movies to life!!!!
