During the winter, Killington is one of the world's largest and most diverse ski areas, with miles and miles of trails dedicated to downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Yes, It's a bit pricey. $30 per person for 1 round trip. But you get your own gondola for the ten minute ride and on a clear day the view is pretty sweet. I know the giant hogweed is a dangerous plant, but it sure makes a nice wildflower meadow for photos. The gondola takes you to the Peak Lodge which is by far the best top of the mountain place to eat or drink that we've ever seen, and we've seen a bunch. Lovely views and easy hiking trails. Take the ride!

A stop along the fall foliage route where visitors can see beavers, moose and deer.
This is a great little spot, perfect for fishing and hiking. It's also a nice place to go swimming during our (rare) warmer months.

This Southern Vermont resort is famous for its winter skiing, and now for off-season golf.
Went in late March (not February) with wife and kids. Was nervous to go in the spring due to warm weather but the trip turned out to be spectacular. Spring skiing is amazing. No crowds at all and the warm weather was a plus! I put the kids in with a ski instructor and never having had a formal lesson myself, Brad, our instructor, recommended I join. Not only did he up my game, he had my 2 novice kids skiing in intermediate level blue trails during the first day! I couldn’t believe it. The second day was even better. He was great. I call Brad the Bob Ross of ski instructors! He has patience, is a bit philosophical, great sense of humor, is just fantastic with kids, full of similes so the kids can understand, and he can immediately pick out incorrect technique and show you how to correct it. Brad- thanks a million! On our last day we skied as a family. And a family that skis together - stays together!

We camped the last weekend that the park was open for the season. It was during Covid times and I was grateful for the care that was taken by the employees and the visitors. The bathrooms were cleaned 2x per day and that was very appreciated. Our trip lined up with the new moon so we walked to Kent Pond once it was dark and it did not disappoint!! The stars and milky way were mesmerizing!! I love that the AT crosses through it this park, there were many fun places to explore! The lean to was the perfect size for our 2 person tent to be fully covered with room to move around. We had plenty of room left to spread out our gear which was clutch since it rained half our time camping. I can’t wait come back to this park to camp!!

The fall is very pretty and definitely worth the trip if you are in the area. It is roughly a mile walk from the parking lot ... not a hike .
