It's fascinating both as a museum and purely astonishing piece of architecture. The facade is mesmerizing. And the exhibit inside will give you a comprehensive set of information on Poltava's history with lots of curious artefacts. If I'd have to select only one museum in Poltava to visit, it would be this one.

The complex embraces ample monuments related to the Great Battle of Poltava: the Museum of 9 halls, 10 granite obelisks at the places of the old redoubts, various Memorial signs, Sampsonyyvska (St. Sampson) church, Monument to Peter I the Great, and the others. The only Ukrainian museum which is one of UNESCO historical museums; listed to the world tourist itinerary.
