The world largest teak is the Kannimara Teak Tree. It's calculated age is almost 500 years ago and it didn't stop growing until it was nearly 40 meters tall. Then the route to this teak tree is muddy paths and metal in some stretches.

Kava is near Malampuzha and is full of surprizes. One doesn't realise that such amazing beauty lies ahead as one drives along the road. It is ideal for a bike ride and a car ride comes 2nd best. The road is long a winding and you can take halts to enjoy the beauty. After the hustle bustle of Malampuzha, this place offers peace for the soul. Do not miss this spot when you visit this side.

Important poi ts are Seetharkundu Hanging bridge Orange farm Pothundi dam This is worth for a one day trip from palakkad and thrissur disteicts. Having visited Malampuzha Garden and Dam in Kerala state several times in the past and also many other dams in Tamil nadu and few in Karnataka states, I would rate this one of the top attraction dam with garden with lot of playing amenities for children. In fact it came to mind that this dam and park maintenance puts it next after Krishnaraja sagar dam in Karnataka state, Mettur dam in Tamil Nadu.state for the big garden and maintenance though the dam is not as big as the other two dams. When you plan to visit this dam/garden, couple visiting Guruvayur and Thrissur temples visit in the morning hours and Malampuzha Dam for the afternoon or evening.

A three-hour trek from the base of the Dhoni hills will take you to the pristine beauty of nature and the lush green surroundings will rejuvenate your senses. The trekking starts at the foot of the hills near the Teak plantations. A narrow mountain way is there for four-wheel drives and bikes that lead up to the waterfall; however private vehicles are prohibited from traversing these roads.
