The Lismore Visitor Information Centre is currently closed. The award winning Lismore Visitor Information Centre is much more than a visitor centre - it's an experience! Our aim is to be a link between visitors and the rich source of environmental, cultural and economic resources in Lismore, Nimbin and surrounding villages. As Lismore is on the doorstep to Nightcap National Park, the centre features an indoor rainforest, designed to give visitors a taste of what they can experinece in the region. We have an Aboriginal Art Gallery, which provides local Northern Rivers Indigenous artists the opportunity to promote their artwork and offers visitors to Lismore an opportunity to learn about the area they are visiting through some of the local Aboriginal art. We have a large retail section specialising in unique, locally made arts, crafts and produce. There is an array of sumptuous gift baskets which you can buy pre-made or have one made-to-order.
This is a very nicely appointed site with very informative staff, there is also a wonderful gift shop. Parking is great and wonderful for families as there is a great park next door with lots of activities, even a small steam railway.

Now open at our exciting new location in the Lismore Quadrangle, with an expanded range of programs and exhibitions.
It was very pleasing to see how the old Lismore High School site has been transformed into the city's cultural hub, opened in late 2017, the home of the Lismore Library and Regional Gallery separated by the grassy quadrangle known as The Quad. The architectually modernised gallery was a delight to visit, we had come primarily to join a tour of the most impressive Hannah Cabinet; a must for any visit, book online so not to miss out. Afterwards we explored the two levels of the gallery viewing the temporary art collections. I can also recommend Slate Cafe on the ground floor overlooking the Quad. Parking is available at the back of the complex off Dawson Street.

A brilliant market with a flea market kind of vibe, with lots of secondhand and homemade things. Great vintage clothes selection, lots of different types of food. I particularly recommend Ron the coffee man, and the “pocket curry” place.

Informative slide slow and commentary and tour around the sanctuary. Can see koalas up close. Run by volunteers and the tours are a way to provide more awareness of the plight of the koalas and some additional funding by way of a donation. Well worth your support.

Awesome regional Library, what a a pleasant way to spend some time looking for something of interest, books, audio books, games and more great staff there to serve all set in a beautiful old historic building.

Buzzy little coffee shop selling really cheap thai food (small serves but just buy two. Still cheap) and a great little naturopath that gave me really individualized service. Just great.

Great place for an evening meal after a long day of travel. Easy walk from our motel. The food was tasty and the service was quick.
