I toured the distillery and tasting room and I was beyond impressed with the way the facility is run, the LEED certification that both of the historic buildings have (that in itself is impressive), the beautiful & artistic touches in the Tasting Room, the amazing equipment (check out all the copper machinery!). And then there are the actual products - top notch! We did a taste test of all the spirits: - Juniper Grove gin was super clean and had a delightful taste, whiskey - I'm not a fan of brown booze but this I could drink in a Manhattan anyday. - Source One Vodka -(the king of the Clear booze, in my opinion) Both were amazing and I especially the oak sherry cask vodka - lovely flavor & of course, the shade of color makes it interesting. Great to see Bently take the lead with such an amazing establishment.

While you're there run into the Visitor's Center for tips on other "must see" places in the valley! Don't miss the downstairs exhibits!

"The original Douglas County Courthouse from 1865 to 1916, later serving as the Genoa School. Exhibits highlight Native Americans, the Emigrant Trail through Nevada, the Pony Express, and Snowshoe Thompson, as well as an old-fashioned parlor, a post office, a school classroom, and the original courtroom and jail. Open mid-May to mid-October." (from the museum website) The Mormon Station museum and the Courthouse museum complement each other well, and give you a great overview of the history of the area. The Courthouse museum is very informative, granted it could use some updating, but it is hard to ask for a better museum given it is locally run and depends on charitable contributions.

We had a great time returning to Carson Valley Inn in Minden We first had lunch at Katies. We get their monthly coupon offers so food was free, We did tip for the superb service. We then had a great time playing the slots, My husband won a big jackpot and got a hand pay, Nice! As such, we had a stellar Saturday afternoon.

Heard this movie theater had great prices on Tuesday afternoon. 3 of us went for $18.00 for a 4 pm show. The theater was clean and comfortable. The sound quality was good and the picture was perfect. Popcorn was $7.50 for a large but it does come with a free refill. We got ours right away so it wouldn’t interrupt the movie.

Excellent breakfast food, attentive service with Debbie, and large portions so come hungry. Yesterday was my second time coming to breakfast here and it’s now a new favorite for when I visit my mamma. The price is easy on the wallet as well with meals at 7-10 bucks a plate. They have vintage slot machines all around the restaurant along with old time photos.
