We had an amazing experience. Hosts were friendly and made us laugh, wine was good and I loved the variety/change of the Portuguese wines mixed in! They do an extensive wine and olive tasting and the olives with a bite are to die for. We bought a bunch of each and will go back. Highly recommend a stop if you are anywhere close by to this lovely family run place!

Boplaas has long been regarded as in the forefront in premium wine production. Boplaas is known for world-class table wines, Ports and their award winning pot-stilled brandies.
We always visit Boplaas when in the vicinity and stock up on their good wines. The range has extended and now includes their own whisky and gin. They also have a tempting range of local olives, sauces, preserves and dried fruit products Added bonus - they keep Peter Bayly port too, another favorite. Since our last visit a few years ago, they have added a Bistro. We had a great cheese platter accompanied by some of their wine and grape juice for the driver. Always well worth a visit

De Krans Wine Cellar is situated along the upper reaches of the picturesque Gamka River Valley near Calitzdorp. The history of the farm dates back to 1890, when it was bought by the Nel family. Since 1985, most of the classic Portuguese port and wine varieties have been planted. De Krans is widely known as one of the leading port producers, as well as one of the most innovative cellars in South Africa. The Farm offers daily wine tasting, a country style bistro and a deli offering products either produced on the farm or sourced from local artisans.
We had such a lovely lunch, affordable, unpretentious and delicious. I had the Kimchi burger which was so so good(homemade patty), the pulled pork sandwich came on homemade bread. Large selection of wines and ports to try. Sitting in the vibes. Friendly fast service. Thanks, we will be back!

Calitzdorp Cellar is located in Calitzdorp, known for it's variety of Wines and Port. It is part of the world’s longest wine route and has produced a number of award winning white, red and fortified wines since 1928. Come and enjoy our wines in our Tasting Room or a bottle of wine on our veranda overlooking the Gamka-valley.
Another great wine tasting venue with excellent affordable wines. Unfortunately no restaurant. Always happy, friendly and helpful staff. The main wine tasting area has great views over the vineyards onto the Rooiberg in the south.

Had a lovely meander around this little gallery as well as a coffee and chat with Roger who was very hospitable. He’s an extremely talented artist with very emotive photographs being exhibited. Thanks Roger! We hope to be back again.
