We love visiting Benalla gallery - one of Australia’s very best regional art galleries, which holds an impressive collection of influential Australian artists. The collection rotates though a series of thematic and artist-specific exhibitions. There is always something interesting and engaging on. The setting is lovely. Wheelchair access is good.

Benalla Visitor Information Centre is a fully accredited Visitor Information Centre. Open Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm and weekends 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Centre is the first point of contact for visitors to the region. The team of knowledgeable volunteers are there to assist you with advice on attractions, accommodation, retail and dining in Benalla. The volunteers are also able to assist on directions to surrounding regions, maps, visitor guides and merchandise sales. The centre also houses the Costume and Kelly Museum which has a small entry fee and can experience Ned Kelly history, local history and clothing throughout the eras.
The volunteer staff at the Information Centre in Benalla are always helpful and friendly, and are led by the excellent Tourism Officer. The Information Centre is always clean and neat, as are the toilets, and I was glad to be able to find items on the entire region very easily. Remember to take a look at the wonderful little museum whilst you are there too.

This church is quite imposing - it will most certainly capture your attention. Built in 1908 of a Romanesque style. In fairly recent times, 1989, there was a fire that did a great deal of damage to the building and it had to be restored. In 2006 the restorations were finally completed. It is the best example of the ecclesiastical work of the firm of Kempson and Conolly, which specialised in church design. Its design in red brick, described by the architects as "Australian Romanesque", also shows Spanish Baroque influences. The 'wavy' parapet to the sides is most unusual. The original interior featured an ornate curved pressed metal ceiling painted bronze with relief work in verdigris. ( the metal ceilings were destroyed in the fire)

Great place to visit. Loved all the AIRTC and AAFC memorabilia. So good to see the airforce cadets history being preserved
