The locals have long frequented "balnearios" and 600 hot springs bubble up around the country. Tequisquiapan, an enticing cheese and wine-making region in the state of Querétaro, is the perfect destination for those wanting to pair their hot springs experience with a delicious gourmet escape.

This is a great hike. It is completely doable, but not necessarily easy. You really must go as far as you can, The views above and below are awesome.

Good bars around, nice restaurants. There is always something happening on this plaza: concerts, dance demonstrations, local dances, ... Nice fountain in the middle and the trees are so beautiful around the plaza. A must!

One of the most ornate of the historic churches of Queretaro, with unusual architectural arches on the exterior and elaborate wood carving and gilt inside. The massive grill at the back of the church walls off the area where nuns were once shielded from the world--even in church. There is also a small museum, open on certain dates and times.

This should be the #1 tourist attraction in Queretaro - it is by far the most unique experience (la Peña de Bernal an hour away not included). It's huge and maybe the only chance to see a Roman-style aqueduct in North America. Is it worth going out of your way to see this and Queretaro? If you're driving through, it's worth a stop. If you're on a short vacation and the goal is a lot of sightseeing, Queretaro might not be a worthwhile place to spend a night. The aqueduct is large and it's there, but that's about it. It's not like you can walk on top of it or anything.
