Billing itself as one of Denmark's friendliest towns, Kolding certainly appears welcoming—its streets lined with cherry red Danish flags that seem to be constantly waving hello. A medieval castle towers over vibrant parks that bloom with flowers and medicinal spices. On balmy days families will be grateful for SlotssøBadet, an extraordinary waterpark that's a blast for all ages.

HARTEVÆRKET Three km from central Kolding lies Denmark’s first major hydroelectric plant, built 1918–1920. The plant is still in use, generating one per cent of Kolding’s power supply. The historical setting is now home to a modern experience centre, where children and adults can have a fun time together and learn about water, energy and movement. You can also rent canoes at Hartevaerket. In 2019 we opened a brand new trampoline park.

Bring everyone and a picnic basket, cause here's something interesting whether you're 3 or 99 years old. "Enterence" is free btw. Theres playgrounds, small gardens, bird cages, goats, greenhouse and ofcourse the miniature city of Kolding, Kolding Miniby. The miniature houses are impressive, don't forget to pay attention to details. Theres lots of space, benches and green areas, to enjoy a picnic on a sunny day.
