This touching memorial to the local area fallen is just off the main street and is well worth a visit when going through the town. There is a very nicely presented bronze sculpture depicting a WW1 battlefield.

Travel south/west from Cooma on highway for a few minutes. Turn left at big wagon that leads up to Miss Heidis Austrian teahouse and restaurent....A bavarian log cabin type with log fire that feels like something out of a Hanzel and Gretel story. Go past Miss Heidis and you are at the top with a 10 metre walk to lookout and viewing platform. There is a brass compass showing locations and distances on a rock plinth. Toilets and a walking track round Mount Gladstone with another lookout. Great to break your trip on way to the snow or coming back stop for Gluwein, krantsky, crepes, pancakes, goulash, sauerkraut, cheescakes, coffee, wine and more. Feels like Austria but with an Australian view.

While driving through Cooma discovered this great lookout called Nanny Goat Hill! Awesome views of the township of Cooma! Was a easy drive up to the lookout well worth it! Kids enjoyed climbing up the stairs to the lookout! Also had a sculpture of a full size goat sculptured by a local artist named Chris Graham!
