Interesting spot to visit, came as part of our visit to the excellent Carnavon Space Museum. Great views over the city

Also known as the Quobba Blowholes, this attraction is well worth the detour from the main road if you are travelling between Carnarvon and Shark Bay. We went a few hours before high tide and found the blowholes to be very active with the big waves crashing into the coves fascinating to watch. Make sure you wear shoes with good grip and if taking photos, have someone watch the waves and let you know when a big one is coming - so you can get ready to shoot or get out of the way quick smart. Tip: If you are patient, you can get some great photos of the "King Waves Kill" sign with a blowhole in action in the background (to the right of the sign). There are toilets further down the road from the blowholes if you need them - and a basic campground for those who wish to stay the night.

What a pity we were there when it was an extremely windy day that we could not fully appreciate the beauty of The Fascine. We started at the Playground area and waited for the sun to set before walking further down to where the HMAS Sydney II Memorial is. The sunset was glorious throughout The Fascine. Just love the view of the coconut trees lining up The Fascine which reminded me of my childhood holidays to Penang where I was born (I was brought up in KL). Did not get a chance to walk on the 2.5km Old Tramway Walk Trail. Would have been nice to go for a run too from the end of The Fascine where the boat harbour is to the Heritage Precinct.

This place is temporarily closed. Carnarvon Heritage Precinct, a Not For Profit Community Group. Attractions include One Mile Jetty Interpretive Centre - HMAS Sydney II/HSK Kormoran, Lighthouse Keepers Cottage Museum, Railway Station Museum, Shearing Hall of Fame, Gascoyne Rivermouth Walktrail, Tramway Walktrail, Inner Mangrove Walktrail and Fishing off the One Mile Jetty.
Worth a trip just for a visit to the museum. it is such a shame that a heritage treasure like this jetty is not receiving government funding for restoration. that said, it is still worth a visit as there are 3 musuems there, a train museum, a lighthouse museum, and the actual jetty museum dealing with the story of HMS Sydney. It was worth a visit just to chat to John who was entirely lovely, knowledgeable, and a real asset to both Carnarvon and the museum.
